#24 in the ESPN/USA Today. I take that as a sign of respect.

Agreed.  Color me "DEAD WRONG".  I thought we had no chance.

Dropping only 4 spots after two losses in a week, is a testament to the respect our team has (I definitely thought we'd be out).

We lost to #1 and #9 not Depaul and Providence.  We were rated #20, we should have lost and should have remained at #20.

Why should we have stayed at 20?  We lost 2 games while teams behind us didn't lose.  The only way to drop spots is not if you lose to someone ranked below you.  Otherwise we should not expect to move up in the rankings unless we beat teams ranked above us.

This is the week we prove our worth or forever drop out of the top 25.

Honestly, at first I was shocked to see/hear that we were still ranked...that said, it may be good for this team to be knocked down a bit. Buzz's teams always play at their best when they have a chip on their shoulder. While the #10 ranking was nice to see, their performance since then has been anything but that of a team ranked 10th in the nation. Maybe Buzz can use this over the next few weeks to motivate the team again...you guys are good, but they don't think you are.

The most important thing to remember about these last two games.   We lost competitive conference road games to a #1 and #9.  We were a couple of big plays/stops away from winning both.     Contemplate that as you stare off of the ledge.

Or it means that everyone around us wasn't exactly lighting the world on fire either.  Someone has to get enough votes to fill up the rankings.  We should win 7 of the next 10 and possibly even 9 of the next 10.  The Big East schedule is inviting this year with a number of the power teams taking big steps backward.  Other than Syracuse, is anyone else in the league scary?

It's probably more a testament to the two teams we faced. Losing by a combined 10 points on the road to two top-10 teams maybe should make a team fall but shouldn't make it plummet.

I'm just glad to finally see us ranked ahead of Bucky!

Careful, you'll never live up to your mini-CBB rep with optimism like that ;)

Technically, that's how it should work, but it doesn't, which is why no one should get too worked up about whether his/her team is in the top 25. Rankings are based in part on the make-up of teams' schedules and how other teams perform (two factors that have nothing to do with skill). Though, admittedly, at the end of the day, that little number next to our name means something to me and actually to our program as well in terms of brand-name exposure. But, back to my initial point and yours, the rankings are indeed flawed.
