Big game tonight so there are probably more important things to chat about but this has been bothering me...

First, I like Gus Johnson as a play-by-play guy.  He certainly enhances the NCAA tournament on tv.  However, the guy does not know too much of a good thing can be bad thing.  I have listened/watched him now announce two regular season games and the guy acts like it is for the National Championship when somebody hits a three in the middle of the first half of an early regular season game.

Listening to him too much is making me de-sensitized to his excitement, which is a shame.

I hope he doesn't become like Dick Vitale et al. who have become caricatures of themselves.

Great link. I went to high school with Gus. He was a couple years ahead of me, but we both played baseball and the Varsity and JV teams would often times practice together. He was a great guy in high school. I love to listen to him call a game but usually only hear him during the NCAA tournament.

Great link Hards.  I think I am going to sound capture that "Heart Break City!!!" line for my New Year's Eve Party.

Will come in handy when a male singleton gets shut down by a female singleton at our shin-dig.   :P

Boom Goes the Dynamite!  Tosh.0's web redemption of the Boom Goes the Dynamite guy had Gus Johnson doing play by play... even Gus Johnson couldn't get enough of this guy!

You have to check this out!  It's hilarious!

After Crowder hits a shot clock beating three tonight, you'll probably hear Gus Johnson's new one liner:  "Awww Titties!!!".  Now you'll know where that came from!

Probably a dumb question, but is Gus doing the game tonight?

No, he works for BTN/Fox

It's Dave O'Brian & Jimmy Dykes

One of the best play calls out there.

Love gus.

I love Gus, but nothing beats Raftery for me.

Send it in!

No problem, I like hitting "The Catch" over and over until I can't handle it anymore... Then hitting "PURREEE"

Used to like Raftery. Then he fell a little too much in love with himself and his little catchphrases.

Now he sounds like somebody trying really hard to imitate Bill Raftery.

"Guard against the impostures of pretended patriotism." - George Washington

"In a time of deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act." - George Orwell

You've gotta love Gus.  Check this call from the B10 championship game.
