So now that we have 5 wins under our belts who do you think is the teams most improved overall player so far?

RyanConroy

Easily Vander Blue. Even after tonight's performance.

Disagree. I've been really impressed with Otule's improvements, particularly on offense. Besides his improved post game, his FT shooting has improved.

Otule has looked better, no question, but I don't think his improvement has been nearly as great as Blue's. Otule contributed last year while Vander has gone from being a non-factor/negative impact player to an important piece of MUBB (at least in four of five games).

I haven't looked at the stats from tonight's game, but Otule was a one man defense..., reminded me of Jim McIlvane in a way, swatting shots away.  Vander's night was poor, but his season has been a pleasant surprise.  That being said, he is a ways away from being the impact player that Otule has become.

Vander looked good in non-conference play last year, too. He's definitely improved, but clearly has a long way to go on the offensive end. Otule is a much more complete player right now.

It's going to be hard to tell until we play a few more teams that really challenge us.  Vander had a few big games at the beginning of last year, but quickly faded and went downhill.

Junior is also playing much better. His mid-range jumper is falling more often, he thrives as a pass-first point, and is growing into the player we hoped he'd be. He clearly needs to learn how to better handle a press, though.

That was his strength last year as well.  The question was most improved.  I am not sure that Otule qualifies.  Still a liability on offense.  Funny, though, he gets credit for poor offense while Vander get's blasted.

I see it between Vander and Junior.  I am bothered by some of Juniors decisions and passing as a PG.  Too many TO's right now.  But he has more confidence driving to the hoop.

Tonight aside, I really like how Vander has integrated into the offense.  More comfortable and does not force things.  Tonight, he looked a bit like last year.  Still, he had some very nice passes/assists and played tough D.

Disagree. Post game is decent but the hands are still smothered in butter. His stroke from the line has always been quite good.

Not picking on you, but it annoys me when people say Otule's hands suck.  The guy has no depth perception due to the lack of an eye.  It's not the same problem as Burke had catching the ball, it's a vision problem.  His rebounding and offense will always be limited due to this disability, but his defense has improved every season.

I believe the most improved player is Crowder. He is better offensively and defensively. He pretty much avoids the stupid foul this year. He did have 4 fouls last night, so even one stupid foul would have resulted in him fouling out and presumably cost us the game.

MattyWarrior

He has improved on D, but hes 6'11,no way he should be missing all those putbacks. Has to be more assertive on Offense

Vander is the third most productive member of the team.  Last year he was second worst.  That's a jump of nine spots.

Cadougan is the seventh most productive member of the team (although it drops off considerably after him).  Last year he was the worst.  That's a jump of six spots.

Otule is the fifth most productive member of the team.  Last year he was eleventh.  That's a jump of six spots.

All three players are showing significant improvement.  They were all net negative last year and they're all net positive this year.  Overall, I'd say it's Vander that's improved the most.

But really, the right answer is that it's too early.
