Trevor Mbakwe, 6-8, Sr., F, Minnesota
"He's a warrior. He's one of the best offensive rebounders that has been in this league since I've been around. He plays hard and physical."

MU certainly could have used Trevor, but his people wanted him to not play center ( ala Maymon and his people ).  Definitely a force at PF.

Obviously Mbakwe had all kinds of issues, and didn't want to stick around, but it's hard not to imagine just how good we might be looking with him on this year's team. Otule at C, Mbakwe at PF, Crowder at SF, and Wilson and Gardner to back them up? That would have been the best front line Marquette had certainly since McIlvaine and McCaskill, maybe even further back.

Of course, I think it all worked out for the best, and am not sure Mbakwe would have been a good fit on this team whatsoever -- I still can't figure how Minnesota collapsed last year, but I have to imagine their chemistry wasn't very good.

Back on topic...great for DJO! Hopefully he'll be one of the guys they're still talking about for this come late February.

Mbakwe never would have been on this years team. He would have graduated by now.

He sat out a year because of all the legal trouble.

Must have my math wrong, thought he'd be a senior this year.
