Does anyone know where Jimmy is working out this summer or with who. I know a few weeks ago he was in Milwaukee with Wes and Wade.

brewcity77

At least recently he's been working out with the UTEP college squad.

Quote from: Jimmy Butler TwitterFinna hoop with this UTEP squad..

He had a few other Tweets about playing with UTEP as well. Sounds like he's just looking for places somewhat close to home to play and stay in shape.

And maybe his brother matriculates at UTEP?

A some of his tweets (man i hate that word) involved doing stuff with his brother.

You think he would jump to Europe?

You think he would jump to Europe?

Why would he do that?  He's an NBA 1st round pick with guaranteed money.  Why go to Europe to get hurt, before he ever signs a deal!!!!

Makes no sense...

How much guaranteed money is he making right now? By my calculations, he's getting 0% of his guaranteed contract during the lockout, and no matter how much the Bulls can give him eventually, that means zero income until the lockout ends.

He could go to Europe with a release clause and be treated like a star until the lockout ends. Sure, there's a risk, but he'd be able to make a lot more money playing in Europe for a few months or possibly an entire year than he would sitting on his hands waiting for the lockout to end.

Fine go to Europe for a year, or wait for the NBA lockout to end, which it will!!!!  Play in the NBA and get closer to your NBA pension, which last I checked Europe doesn't offer one.  For a player like Jimmy it's so important to log NBA years and hope to play long enough to be able to collect a pension.

I guarantee Lazar is thinking the same way!!!!

A player can get hurt any time.  Whether he's playing pick-up ball or in some training anything can happen. I'm for him going to play in Europe if he wants to.

Wouldn't you think Europe would be more beneficial to him? Better competetion and better pay (his only pay). With the lock out and more NBA players going over to Europe, I think that it would help his game rather than hurt it.

StillAWarrior

These guys can purchase insurance policies against injury.  He's probably already done so.  Might as well head over to Europe, earn a few bucks, play some ball, and come back as soon as the lockout ends.  Obviously, he'll want a contract that releases his as soon as the NBA starts up again.
