He should definitely be on the Mount Rushmore of wrestling.

Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.

Macho Man heard the world was ending tomorrow and went to go straighten God out. His death will ultimately save us all.

Savage v Steamboat in WMIII is still the greatest match in wrestling history:

As Ska noted, that's when it was still real  8-)

Snap my into a slim jim

I was going to make a similar joke about his slim jim being snapped...

or that Miss Elizabeth could snap into my slim jim anytime...

but I waited too long.

Honestly wasn't trying to make a joke in the sense of how he died, I just remember him for those commercials more than anything.

Death sure follows these guys more than most it seems.  Miss Elizabeth died as well, what about 7 or 8 years ago?

She was basically given drugs until she died... by Lex Luger... Really a tragic profession.

A simple google search will shock you how many of them are dead.

i get the feeling drug use in the WWE is regulated about as well as the NFL.

Ha! Awesome!!!

An even bigger tragedy was the exclusion of Macho Man's match at Wrestlefest '88 from the home video.

I remember the powder-blue/purplish Macho Man t-shirt my dad bought me that night... except for a brief interruption by Derrick Turnbow that both started on ended on his bobblehead day, Macho Man has been my favorite steroid-enhanced "athlete" since that night.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

you'll have to scroll down a bit to this:

SAVAGE HOMER: When Brewers GM Doug Melvin heard that Savage had died, it took him a while to figure out that Savage was the same Poffo who played in the minor leagues. "I think he hit a homer off me," Melvin said, hearkening back to 1972 when the two would have been on opposing rookie-ball teams. Unfortunately, Melvin was unable to verify this, as he could not find boxscores.
