Per multiple Twitter feeds, Jarion Henry picked New Mexico. Personally, I'm glad about that.

Sultan - thanks for explaining the juco deal.  I get it now, if a player just went to juco to get his basketball skills up to d1 he can come out if he explodes freshman year, but most are there to get their academics up, so he probably has another juco year.

No problem.  If you fully qualify academically out of high school (like Butler and DJO), you can leave your JUCO after one year.  If you fail to qualify academically out of high school (like Buycks and Crowder), you not only have to go two years, but you must get your associates degree.  That is why Crowder didn't arrive on campus until late summer...he had to wrap up his degree.

Further clarification on Buycks...he apparently was a fine student in high school, but was given wrong advice about the "core requirements" to get NCAA eligibility.  He could have gone a year of prep school but chose the JUCO route instead.

Juwan Staten transferred to Penn State.  Not sure if Marquette was ever interested.

I am bummed to learn that about Buycks.  I certainly would rather have him coming back for next year having done one year of prep school to leave himself four at Marquette - then we wouldn't need to worry about the last schollier or banking one.  I guess I'll feel the same way about Cadougan's 14-minute freshman season in two years.
The www.valueaddsports.com analysis of basketball, football and baseball players are intended to neither be too hot or too cold - hundreds immerse themselves in studies of stats not of interest to broader fan bases (too hot), while others still insist on pure observation (too cold).

I know that Buzz know's what he's doing and there isn't much out there right now.  I just watched some game video of one of the hottest names out there and he simply isn't good enough for a program like Marquette.

To be honest, I liked the Wyoming transfer M'Baye, but he opted for Oklahoma this weekend and I might take the Canadian kid who's leaving Louisiana Tech with one year left and immediate eligibility, but other than that, there just isn't anyone who I think is worth it, but that's me.

Are you talking about Kadeem Coleby?  A 6-9 PF who was a teammate of Junior's on the Canada Grassroots team?  If so, does anybody know anything about him?  A one-year big with immediate eligibility would be perfect.

I think he's talking about Olu Ashaolu from Louisiana Tech

http://www.latechsports.com/sports/m-baskbl/mtt/ashaolu_olu00.html

I think that would be the best thing we can do with that last scholarship. Adding another senior presence who can help out at the four would be great. He averaged 14.2 ppg and 9.4 rpg as a junior. He can hit the three a bit (29.3%), though he's very foul prone -- he fouled out 11 times in 32 games.

Still, an experienced player to provide some strength off the bench behind Crowder without taking up a scholarship for 2012-13 is about as perfect as we could hope for. Here's hoping Cadougan and Buzz can convince him to spend a year at Marquette before he ends his NCAA career.

Things I like about Olu: A Great athlete and Rebounder, Gets to the FT line and shoots the ball at high % .530.  Foul's and TO's are a little high.

Olu did put his name in for the draft, also with Wilson and Crowder I wonder if he would be willing to come off the bench.

My thought might also be if EW is not going to be ready for full contact practice by Mid Oct, Maybe you would Medical redshirt him, he really needs the summer and fall to work on his game.  You would bring Olu in to take his spot in the rotation.  Look how much CO improved in His Medical redshirt year.

Just a thought, I have no idea how long of a recovery EW has till he is at full strength.

MU has been talking to him.  I also read that he recently visited Xavier.

I agree - EW made progress last year but he could be the guy left out depending on how long his recovery takes. A medical redshirt year might do him wonders.
