Adam Zagoria is frequently incorrect.  Just as he was recently regarding the St. John's hire.  Instead of admitting he was incorrect and made a mistake, he ignored the situation when someone else was named coach.  Very unprofessional.

Todd Mayo apparently has signed his LOI.  Question: does anyone think there is a chance that Todd's millionaire brother will pay for his education, i.e., Todd will come as a walk on and not as a scholarship player?

Approximately the same chance that Todd will pick up the tab for me to go to grad school.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Obviously not since he signed his LOI. If Todd deserves a scholie he deserves a scholie.

Perhaps Wade or Matthews still have time to adopt him though?

I'm sure their mother didn't raise no fools.

Since when have we cared this much about whether MU or someone else pays his tuition?  If this type of scenario is not out of the ordinary, why aren't more people (i.e boosters, newly rich family members, etc.) picking up the tab for these kids to play as walk-ons instead of having a scholie?

Part of the answer is you get on the topic of "are these kids being paid in addition to the free tuition."  It's already been said, but since Mayo already signed his LOI, I don't think we need to speculate much more as to who's paying the tuition.

On a side note, does anyone know how many walk-ons you can have on a team?  Assuming you've used all your scholies, is it just one?

Look at the UNC sideline, it looks like they dress A TON of walk on's.  Found this, kinda interesting.

Jay Bee

They may want to balance those walk-ons a bit.  Looks like they are all traditional players.

Interesting.  Maybe there's no limit to how many walk-ons you can have.
