I remember Wilson signing, Anderson did too, right? Looking forward to Mayo putting pen to paper. Though I wouldn't mind waiting for that last one in hopes we land Aaric Murray.

The portal is NOT closed.

Let's hope for a surprise signing tomorrow too. PG or big man!

Stuckin1977

I like our size for the next two years.  I'd say PG

bilsu

I would think Mayo signs tomoorw and the last scholarship is filled in May

Murray is visiting in a week or two, so at least Buzz has got him to visit.  If the kid wants to play some power
forward, he can step in right away after Crowder graduates.  Makes perfect sense, visited Okla. St., DePaul
(probably like to play for a winning program), and West Virginia.  MU can offer more.  Has anybody really scene
him play?

Lots of people think that if he wants to play center he can step in right away (after his transfer year sit out).  I think that I'm in that crowd.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

BCHoopster

nice to play big for a change, who is your power forward in 2013?

GGGG

He is too athletic to stick in the post.  Put him at switchable type position, with Otule or Gardner in the post, and it would be perfect.  Just because he's taller doesn't mean he is suitable for post play.

Agreed. If Murray comes here, he will probably be our starting center from the moment he becomes eligible. It'd be great if he could also provide some face-up play so we could get Otule or Gardner on the floor with him, but if he comes here, he'll likely be our best 5 for all three years he's here (including the one he sits out).

bilsu

I would be worried about him going pro before he ever plays for us.

A problem I would look forward to.

How many times does that actually happen?  I would seriously doubt he'd transfer, sit out for a redshirt year, and then enter the NBA Draft without having played for a year.  That is an EXTREMELY big risk.  You have to have GREAT workouts then.  Won't happen.

Kevin Noreen visited here too.

To think we might have had him instead of Gardner. What could have been.

An athletic center is a huge +.  Plumlee, Zeller, and other athletic centers had a field day with Marquette this past year.  Marquette with an athletic center would be a great mismatch against many teams.

Murray is a decent outside shooter and there's no reason to believe that MU can't play him at th 4 alongside either Otule or Gardner.

I hope my Twitter feed on MU goes ballistic (in a good way) :).

My point is that buzz would need to change how he uses 5s if murray come here. He will do much more facing up to the basket than otule or gardner do.

does anyone know of any type of livechat anywhere, etc where someone in the know updates signings as they happen? id love to be able to follow that sort of thing live not only for MU, but the rest of the BEast and college basketball

Todd Mayo apparently has signed his LOI.  Question: does anyone think there is a chance that Todd's millionaire brother will pay for his education, i.e., Todd will come as a walk on and not as a scholarship player?

GGGG

Obviously not since he signed his LOI. If Todd deserves a scholie he deserves a scholie.
