Upon arrival, though, the transfer approached Division I basketball like a fan more than a player. Butler couldn't help but revere upperclassmen like Wes Matthews and Lazar Hayward, two future NBA players who were similarly sized and played his position.

"When Jimmy first got here," Marquette assistant Tony Benford recalls, "I was like, Man, I don't know if this guy's tough enough to make it. He was in awe of those guys. He didn't know how hard he had to play defensively and offensively. He was kind of like, Can I have your autograph?"

A few weeks ago, I said that no one on this team would have a prolonged NBA career.  I think JFB might prove me wrong.

There's a great interview with JFB in that video that was linked in the thread about Buzz's tat.  The part with JFB begins about 17:05, and Jimmy talks a lot about Wes, Jerel and 'Nique.

After reading this, I really hope Butler is assigned to guard Kendall Marshall. Barnes may be the better player and the bigger scoring threat, but I think he'll get his points regardless. If we can slow down Marshall, we slow down the efficiency behind Roy's offense. That's what we need to do to beat the Tarheels.

I can buy that.  JFB did a great job defending Tu Holloway last week.

I have said this, but problem is who guards Barnes, Zeller and Henson? Jae and Otule cant guard 2 of them.

And if MU can beat UNC tomorrow night with Jimmy performing well it will help his chances even more. Everybody is going to be watching tomorrow night. Friday night in primetime on CBS with Nantz and Kellog calling the action. Thank God Billy Packer has sailed off into the sunset.
