Remember when Crean left and we all thought that Bennett was a likely choice.  Some thought, "well, Bennett's dad coached within the same area, so he will come to MU since it is kinda close."

It turns out there was no logic to that.  Parrish and guys like that are saying the same thing now.  "Buzz is from the south.  There are a few nice jobs open in the south.  Therefore, Buzz would be interested in those jobs."

Let's relax here folks.  This is literally the type of logic that is going on.  There is nothing more to it than it makes sense to talk about.

I agree we need some certainty and Buzz will probably get paid by MU earlier than he should.  However, this will blow over.  This last week Buzz has been coaching hard and signing a player to Marquette.

If I am Buzz, I'd be worried about the quick hook at OU.  A few years removed from the Elite 8 and possibly their most famous NBA player and the guy is canned.

MU is literally perfect for Buzz.  He likes the attention more than he lets on, but MU absolutely perfect for his style and his religious convictions.

I agree, but there's definately legs to these reports. The fact Buzz isn't dispelling these rumors has got to have anyone concerned. I starting to think this isn't going to end well for those who want Buzz at MU. Just too much smoke. And what really irritates me is the players have to deal with this crap at the moment and that could easily affect their performance and mental focus. In other words, a first round early exit again is prolly in store. >:(

I agree with most of this, but I don't see Oklahoma as the real threat here.  I'm personally more worried about Arkansas.  Oklahoma is probably the 8th best basketball job in the Big 12 right now, they're staring down NCAA sanctions again, and completely overwhelmed by football and about 5-6 other sports.  Arkansas is a better opportunity (weak SEC West, probably 4th/5th best job in the SEC on paper) and gives him access to Texas recruits, but the fanbase is an absolute pressure cooker; Stan Heath got run out of town after 2 NCAAs and Pelphrey didn't do much better.

But we're just gonna have to wait and see how it all shakes out.  I have faith Buzz will stay, but until those jobs are filled, we've got some basketball to play.

HAHAHA. I guarantee that the players have talked to Buzz about this and they have a much better idea of what is going on than a bunch of idiots on a message board that are making this all a bigger deal than it is. It is not going to affect their play.

Not true. Bennett was reached out to multiple times over many days. He simply didn't want the job (for a variety of reasons).

Bennett was the likely choice, he didn't want it and we moved on to get Buzz a few days later. Don't need logic, those are the facts.

Well the internet rumors have the same logic.  You are looking at 100% of the facts and saying while we maybe have 5% of the facts on summer 2011 for Buzz.  Schools may be contacting Buzz multiple times over many days and he simply may not want the job.  Buzz may be the likely choice, but he doesn't want it and they will move on.  However, right now we are only at the internet rumor stage and they have a similar basis.

My point is that this is nothing like the Bennett situation. Bennett was having conversations with multiple MU people and a lot of people were aware of it. It wasn't speculation, it was fact. I've heard nothing BUT speculation about Buzz.

I might be misunderstanding one or both of you, but it sounds like you are both saying the exact same thing.
