2nd half D was outstanding, the last graphic I saw had WVU shooting in the low 20's - can you provide your usual breakdown?

Henry Sugar

you rang?

This was truly a tale of two halves.

1H
MU scored 1.02 ppp vs WVU's 1.26 ppp.  West Virginia had an eFG% of 73% (wtf), while MU shot 50%.  MU won the turnover battle 14% to 21%, and did a nice job controlling the boards against the best offensive rebounding teams in the conference (WVU averages a rebound on almost 40% of missed shots and had half that).

2H
Marquette scored 1.15 ppp vs WVU's 0.79!  eFG% was a disparity of 54% to 28%.  MU was a little more sloppy with the ball but still won that advantage (18% to 21%).  Again, MU did a nice job on the boards and had an ever so slight advantage (33% to 32%).

The first game against WVU was the early warning signal for our defense being crap.  We won that game but allowed 1.15 ppp.  What is nice is that last night we held WVU to 1.00 ppp.  For the game, Marquette won every one of the four factors (52% to 49% efg, 16% to 21% to, 31% to 28% boards, 49% to 26% ftr)

Clearly MU still needs to put together two good halves to be the team we all know they can be.  But nice to see them coming together on the averages.
