Anytime you can post a photo completely out of context to make an objective observation, you've got to do it.

In Jamil's defense, I believe that he had 4 fouls at the time of the photo.  He was trying to stay clear of Maymon to keep from fouling out of the game.

Not sure if he had four fouls at the time, but he was definitely in foul trouble. If I remember correctly, he was called for a couple of ticky-tack fouls early and a questionable charge in the second quarter. He picked up his fourth just before halftime. Memorial still would have won if he wasn't in foul trouble, but it would have been a much better game.

Interesting note, Vander Blue was 3-4 on 3 pt attempts in that game.

Blue had a hell of a tournament that year. He had 30-plus against Germantown and brought the place to its feet with a dunk against a really good Bay Port team in the semis. I remember thinking at the time that his game would translate better to high major college ball than Maymon, who seemed to get most of his points just because he was stronger than the guy guarding him and could muscle his way to the basket.

How does Jamil's jump shot compare to JFB's?  I've never seen him play.

Jamil and EWill are both tall guys that get a lot of elevation on their smooth jump-shots.  If either of them are in the game and can consistently make shots it's going to make for some pretty plays :)

So in having Jamil, do we think we will be better next year or about the same?  I expect the
point situation to be about the same, some good days and some not so good, thoughts?

I think they are going to miss a lot of Butler's tenacity.  Wilson may be a better scorer and better athlete.  So the questions will be...can Crowder, Otule and Gardner emerge more so that we don't miss what Butler does on the inside?  Will EWill finally give us something to possibly fill the Fulce role?  Will Jamil's game evolve since his freshman year at Oregon?

groove

Having not seen seen Wilson play last year, what was the story with his freshman year. He averaged about 5 points a game. How much playing time did he get? If he is better than Butler I would hope he would think he would get more than 5 a game. Then again didnt they end up getting read of the coach after the season. Maybe the whole season was a mess.

Freshman are hard to fit in, you really have to be good to shine, he was OK.  Saw
a few games, long way to go.  The year off will really help him mature and he even
stated that Todd Smith has really shaped his body.  The big question is can he hit
the three.  If not, Juan Anderson might get time at the 3.  I was thinking earlier in
the year they would play Vander at the 3 next year, but unless he learns to shot the
three or have any O, he will have to have a huge off-season, in the weight room and
the gym. Vander looked great as a junior in high school, not sure what has happened,
coaching, confidence??  His head is always down, body language is awful, and has no
idea when to shot and not to shot.
