Do you think that Jimmy is thinking of DJO when he says these comments? I am probably reading too much into them. Just wondering.

I think we know if we play just for ourselves as individuals, we won't win any games, but if we play together, if we play as a team, we'll be just fine."

When we were individuals, it didn't work out so well.

Skatastrophy

I think he was speaking to the same point that Buzz made in his post game interview.  How MU had 2 assists the whole first half and then 9 during our run in the 2nd.  When we played as a team and were getting assists we started really clicking.

Brad Galli

Jimmy is not going to throw anyone under the bus. Not his personality. As Skatastrophy said, Jimmy was merely echoing Williams' press conference (and most certainly locker room) message.

I asked Williams about Jimmy's performance, picking up the slack for a team struggling to shoot the ball, and he still pointed to Jimmy's poor shot selection. Thus, it is not just DJO, it is not just Jimmy. Williams is concerned with his entire group playing as one. Finger pointing is not something this group is about.
Would be nowhere without the support of the Marquette community. Can't beat the MU family.

Rooting for Lazar, Jimmy, Steve, Wes and Dwyane always. Go Buzz.

DJO only made one glaringly bad decision.    He forced maybe 2 shots.   Taking good open shots that you  historically make and the coach wants you to shoot is not selfish play.   Not giving up the ball on a 3 on 1 break and getting called for a (weak) charge.......yeah, that needs improved on.

DJO had a drive or two that got somewhat out of control that I bet Buzz wasn't thrilled with.

We agree.    Aggressive poor decisions are still poor decisions.   But there were only a couple.

DJo had the charge but he also had a few drives that turned into turnovers or circus shots.  Problem is when the help side defender steps in to stop his drive he rarely if ever simply dishes to the man on the block that the defender just left. If he could add that aspect to his game we could be really good.

One problem I've noticed in our first five games from both DJO and Buycks is their constant use of "jump passes"...they effectively drive the baseline, jump, and then look to pass in mid-air...you're taught at a young age not to leave your feet without knowing where you're going with the ball.  The two of them have been forced into several errant passes and turnovers because they're constantly forcing the issue...they just need to be more patient...

However, most of the yellow jerseys were standing around, away from the key, watching him drive.

Agreed...there were too many instances where we had players just standing, watching someone try to create for themself in the half-court...there needs to be move movement and screens off the ball in the offensive end...I didn't really think that we crashed the boards enough on the offensive end (not including the "unexpected shots" that Buzz and Jimmy referenced...hard to be in position when the shot catches you off guard)

Knight Commission

The ball movement is lacking this year compared to previous 6.

tower912

Inexperience and learning how to play together.   I expect the ball movement to improve.
