When he flies, does he go on an airline or does he have access to a private jet of some sort?

I hope Buzz doesn't burn himself out...that is my one worry with him.  To go back and forth 6 out of 7 days, bwtween MKE and TX/MS/CA/MD/IL/etc..has got to be taxing.  Good luck to Buzz.  Think it is great that we have in-homes with thes 6 kids, all being high-major/Top 100 prospects.

If MU can land 2 of these players..I'd say we have even more evidnece that we are entering a golden era for MU basketball, not seen since the days of Al.  NEVER has MU been able to land players this highly regarded without dangling the carrott of a lot of PT available.  If Buzz lands 2 or 3 more highly regarded kids such as any of the above - it will show we are getting to the stage of being an elite program, where kids want to come to..and realize they will have to compete their a$$ off to get PT with other talented kids.

I too worry that Buzz might be burning himself out.  I hope he has a private jet as that would be a huge game changer for making such a brutal schedule tolerable.

I am pretty sure he has a plane at his disposal.

This is the world of college bball recruiting. It is a part of the job, and he knows it. I would be more concerned if he wasnt out there on the road. Every major coach in the country is doing this.

I hope he is coherent when talking to the kid's family.  What a schedule, private jet or not.

What may not be normal is flying back and forth between the home base to attend individual workouts with the existing team - I suspect most have their assistants oversee that..and stay out on the road for 6-7 day stretches.

Buzz will be fine. Hes only 38 years old.

Maybe this is why Bo likes to get his recruiting done so early, an old man like him doesn't need a hectic schedule like this.

Really?  I know of a few....they do hotels rather than flying back to the gym every day.

C'mon, Buzz has every minute of his flights organized.   He probably has 17 minutes of napping in ink for every flight, as well as 22 minutes of talking with his wife and family while in the air.  He can tell you how many home visits he has done in X hundred and X days since he became coach.   It is who he is.  It is his character revealed.    However, I can totally see him, in a few years, winning a national championship and, during his victory press conference, retiring out of the blue.

7 glasses of sweet tea with 7 ice cubes each and he'll be fine. There's a reason he got the nickname Buzz. I love how he's focused on the future but doesn't lose sight of the present. Land 2 of these guys (hopefully of the taller variety) and we'll approach MSU type consistency. Exciting times ahead!

Buzz is a high-energy guy, and for a coach things don't get much more excitng off the court than TIS type f trip shcedule.  Between adrenalin, sweet tea and his nature, I have zero concerns with Buzz's ability to hit the road each day with everything he's got.

This is a CRITICAL trip - big time.  He HAS to be pumped up each minute - no worries!

NotAnAlum

Mu has some big time Alums and I'm sure that some of those guys have access to private planes.  If you or your company has the plane they probably have a crew on the payroll it doesn't cost them that much extra to put it in the air.  They might be able to claim the whole thing as a donation to the University and hence as a deduction.  Otherwise frankly its crazy to fly around commercial like that just to get back to workouts.

No, they cannot do that.

Dick Strong has a private plane. Would not be surprised if that's Buzz's ride.

It is a lot of work, but Buzz is very well compensated for it relative to other people's jobs.  I am glad he is working hard and earning that salary.

Does the university have a plane?  I know many do, for use by the higher ups as well as athletic staff.
