Could be for the best from Chi's perspective.  Reddick is not the long term answer.  I'd like to see a trade pulled off for Iguodala (Evan Turner is in Philly now), Monta Ellis (he was in trade rumors to Knicks), or Danny Granger (it would be hard to get him from Larry Bird).  Those three are under the radar, but would be nice scoring options.  No need to panic this year.

Bulls will likely get a top 3 seed by winning the Central, but they don't need to get tied up in a long term deal overpaying Reddick to try to win it this year.  Keep some flexibity and give the team a better shot.  I would rather have Diener or Novak at the minimum and try to make another move later rather than having Reddick at a high price.

I agree that I don't really want Reddick, if they were going to tie up the money, I'd have rather seen it go to Wes or Morrow. But I think that expecting the Bulls to get a top 3 seed is rather over-optimistic at this point. While Rose and Noah should be even better, and Boozer will be a boost, I think the Bucks right now are the team to beat in the Central. A healthy Bogut, an improved Brandon Jennings, and the savvy addition of Drew Gooden put them at the top of the heap in my mind. Been a Bulls fan all my life, but overlooking Milwaukee is a mistake in my eyes. As long as Michael Redd spends most of the season in street clothes, Milwaukee will be very tough. Of course, if Redd gets healthy, they become a much more beatable team.

Orlando matched the Bulls offer to Reddick. He will remain with the Magic.

The "lower tier" free agents have to wait and see where the bigger names will go. Once this gets shaken out guys like TD and Novak will see where they can go.

With his new kid, I can't see why the Bucks don't extend Novak an offer.

There was some talk on 670 the score last night in Chicago about Diener or Novak being cheap, low risk options for the Bulls as they fill out their roster.

The Bucks are winning the Central, not the Bulls.

Bulls did a sign and trade for CJ Watson as a backup pg.  Watson gave about 10ppg out in Golden State playing behind Monta Ellis and Step Curry.  He looks quick and will be a nice backup for Rose.  Teams will always have to cover a quick PG this year.  The Bulls' team is really shaping out to be a nice and balanced roster.  The players look to complement each other nicely.  I hope they can put it together.

That being said, Diener's chancing of making the Bulls just became less likely.  The Bulls will probably look to add a big man and another wing.  Novak might be an ok option to go with what they have.  I think the Bulls took a silver medal on the only player from Marquette they were really looking at unfortunately.
