I think it depends on what you're looking at.  I'm not necessarily sure that he's a 5-Star player like he's rate by Rivals, I think he's a lot closer to the rankings in the mid 30s and 40s that he gets from ESPN, HoopMasters and Bob Gibbons.

That's still a higher ranking than any player we've had for a while. I think Blue may have an inherent disadvantage to those prospects in talent-rich areas such as North Carolina, Cali, Texas, Florida, etc as he doesn't play comparatively highly ranked players on a regular basis, making it harder for him to separate himself.
“All men dream; but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity; but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act out their dreams with open eyes, to make it possible.” - T.E. Lawrence

VB has not had a great year for a lot of reasons but is the real deal without a doubt.

The Badger players thought he would be in the NBA after 2 seasons.

Out of curiosity...anyone know what J-may was ranked out of high school?  Wade?

Why, does Mickey D have an All-American roster for cats that quit after 9 games?

The answer is no, but they may have a job opening.

Consensus Maymon was #73.  He too was not ranked by PrepStars and USA Today.  Currently Blue is #53, but that's from the fall rankings which don't include the fact that he jumped from unranked to #42 in Bob Gibbons rankings after he updated them in December.  That jump will move him up a few spots.

Wade did not factor in the consensus rankings.  He was ranked #55 by Bob Gibbons...but he was unranked by HoopMasters, HoopScoop, Prepstars and Scout.  He did make FoxSports ranking at #48, but they've never been considered one of the top services, so they were never part of the RSCI.

I talked to vander about two weeks ago and he said "HE NEEDED ONE MORE VOTE" for the All-American game.

So apparently he didn't get that one vote.

Hes obviously talented enough, but...Unfortunately, those type of politics do play a role.

Yes, I absolutely agree with you that he is very talented. I've watched his several games and I am amazed with his performance. He is avery good odel for all people who are engaged in sports activities.

Is Vander really having the kind of year that would warrant a McDonald's spot?

I'd say getting named to the USA under 18 team suggests that he's showing a lot of talent when the situation he's in allows him to do so.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.
