Any chance Doc could nudge his son to MU?

I have no idea, but it would be sweet. :)
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Well, one article I just read said that Austin has already visited Duke and has supposedly talked to Coach Williams at UNC. The article did quote him as saying that he could open his recruiting up to other schools as well, so you never know, but it looks like he's going to an elite school (UNC, Duke, UK, etc...)

Roy and Doc are golfing buddies, don't count UNC out in this one.

The BIGGER question is what the heck is going on in Gainesville? Between transfers and recruits decommitting.....I wonder if Billy regrets not taking that NBA job now?

Yeah, just what we need: no scholies and another Guard.
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind.

Not saying he's coming to Marquette (sounds like an obvious long-shot), but if MU had a chance to sign one of the top guards in the nation, I wouldn't think twice about bringing him on board.  Just because we are already guard-heavy, doesn't mean you should turn down a guy like Rivers.

Honestly, I'm beginning to think he just got lucky with that one class.  After losing to MSU in the finals, he really didn't do much until then and hasn't done much since.

Agreed. Rivers is a special, special player. If you have a chance to take him, you do it without a second thought.

Arguing otherwise reminds me of the Bulls fans saying they don't want D-Wade because they already have Derrick Rose. Is having 2 of the best guards in the NBA really going to hurt your team?!?

I believe I remember hearing that none of the Rivers boys are considering Marquette because they don't want to try be better than Doc was when he was here/have themselves compared to their old man so any who are holding out hope he is considering us can drop that idea.

Bulls fan's want Wade, But would take Lebron or Bosh 1st. They are younger and seem to be a better fit with Rose, Noah, Deng who are basically the core of the team now.  Rose is a scoring point guard, and is at his best with the ball in his hands breaking teams down, Wade is a scoring Combo Guard who is best with the ball in his hands. If the bulls get Wade I would be happy, But I would be a little Happier with Bosh and Lebron is the best 23-24 year old player the NBA has ever seen.

Rivers' mom was at the big h.s. tournament last weekend (the one that was televised) and she told people around here very casualy that Austin wants/is going to go to Duke.

He's a 2011 recruit, not 2010, so we would have an open scholarship for him.

Not sure why the kid gets so much hype... He really isnt that good. There are plenty of other 2011 guards I would rather have.

Didn't seem to matter when I asked Bruce about his interest in coaching MU.

Is he going to grow 4 or 5 inches and gain 65 pounds soon?

If he is than I'm all for it. If not then I don't see why we would even try to recruit him so we can have one more guard and one less scholarship. Not saying the kid isn't good, he looks amazing, I just don't think he would even consider us since we really have no guard spots available. I would love to have him over Newbill or Smith, just because he's likely a better player.
