Does a 9-9 Notre Dame get in the NCAA?

9-9 Notre Dame does not make the tournament without 2 wins in the BE tournament.

By virtue of their being the University of Notre Dame, and nothing more, they will receive a bid to the NCAAs.

I'd argue the other way.  IU is supposed to suck right now, UCLA, UCONN, and UNC don't have nearly the excuse.

UCLA is pretty freaking bad this year.  They are 13-15 and they play in the absolutely atrocious PAC-10.

I know man.  It's sad but so very very true.  ND can lose 9 out of 10 and still get votes for the Top 25 each week

This does suck, but let's just say the two did have exactly identical resumes, the NCAA needs some factor to tip the scales.  That factor is $$, and I think ND has more.  The NCAA is not stupid when it comes to running their student athlete business.

Agreed, but they're meeting expectations.  They were picked 10th, and they're tied for 10th. 

UCONN was preseason top 15 in the nation, and likely won't even make the NCAAs.  North Carolina was preseason top 5, and won't make the NCAAs and are one loss away from not even making the NIT.  UCLA, expected to be rebuilding, but even they came it at 29th in the preseason poll.  They were picked 3rd in the Pac Ten and expected to get a NCAA bid.

One team has met expectations, the other three have not come close and at least two of them have the talent to be doing a lot better than they are.
