Hmm... no offense to the kid, but why is everyone on the Buycks bandwagon as a starter?  I don't see a ton of upside.  I think he is a bench player because he has poor shot selection and he isn't the best decision maker.  I don't mind if he gives some guys a breather but unless he gets a better jump shot or becomes a better defender, I can see other players taking the available PT.

Buycks is the best rebounding guard we will have.  He needs to be on the floor.  I'm confident he'll clean up his decision making.

I give you credit, man. You are really drinking the kool aid.

I REALLY hope you are right, because that would be amazing, and an incredibly fun team to watch.

I knew I'd get some sh$t and rightfully so for predicting those scoring totals...I did do the math and realize it added up to 98 points which is ridiculous..just got too busy at work to revise...so posted anyway.  I do think Crowder starts and will be a very good player.  Also think Buycks will start over Blue as I'll take a player with 3 years of college ball experience over a highly regarded freshman

I might be wrong, but Fulce seems to be playing almost as good as Jimmy did last year right now. He might surprise everyone next year with a break out senior year. We know Buzz will play seniors if they're working hard. Junior will start at point and Vander will be the sixth man off the bench. I could see Buycks playing the wing ala Mathews at times.

that's his upside.  better shot selection and better decisions.  I've said it before on here, but if he plays more like Jimmy Butler on offense, he could be very good.  Take it to the hoop, pull up and hit midrange jumpers.  don't take threes unless you are WIDE open.  He could average 12 PPG next year.

Junior - 5ppg
Buycks - 12ppg
DJO - 16ppg
Butler - 16ppg
Fulce - 6ppg

2nd team
Smith - 3ppg
Blue - 7ppg
Williams - 4ppg
Otule - 4ppg
Crowder - 6ppg

I agree and I think expectations are too high for Vander, but I still think he'll get to start. Buycks is probably the super sub because he can at least be serviceable at any of the 3 guard spots. Obviously he's not a true PG, but I think he'll be better at it than Vander or DJO.

If they start Buycks and he or Junior get into foul trouble, that would be dangerous. If Buycks comes off of the bench, at least they can manage the minutes and fouls.

I think it's Otule's job to lose at the 5. That being said, he may not be starting some of the big BE games, depending on the JUCOs. I sincerely hope buzz can keep all of these players happy with minutes and just as Marquette players in general. I feel like this is the deepest team MU has had in some time and I'd like to see all of these players turn their potential and expectations into skills and results

Starters:
Jr
Blue
Buycks
Butler
Otule

Bench:
DJO
Fulce
Crowder
EWill

Newbill
Smith

Swap DJO and Buycks and you have the actual starting lineup for next year.  No way DJO doesn't start every game.  I wouldn't be too surprised to see JC, DB, DJO, Butler and Otule to start actually.

Jones anyone... will likely get 5-10 min a game off bench, or has he left?

Starters

Jr.
DJO
Buycks
Butler
Crowder

First off Bench

Blue
Otule
Ewill
Jones
Smith

oops forgot Fulce ahead of Ewill

Min will diminish for the bench as the season goes on as roles will be set.

Noble Warrior brings up a good point - lots aren't even mentioning Jamail Jones...this is going to be a crazy deep team..but just based on observation..not many freshman I've seen can come into the Big East and play big roles(Big 3 did to an extent, certainly but think that certainly is the exception and not the norm.)  That said, I like Crowder's 2 years of JUCO experience ahead of players like Jones, E-Will, Newbill, and maybe even Fulce due to overall body-type/stength, etc.  I see Crowder in the realm of Lazar...and starter quite possibly.

Jones will be next year's E-will.  Needs to add weight...won't get much PT.

I guess I see DJO as a 6th man who came come off the bench when any of the guards get an early foul or two or if we need an injection of some quick offense.

Totally forgot about Jamail Jones, feel like he goes ahead of e-will's spot on my bench on my list.

So much depth.... I can see how the 2 year players or players with less eligibility get to play ahead of Ewill, Mbao Newbill and Smith.

I hope the guys I didnt list as starters get A LOT Non-con season playing time
