Lazar picking up where the BIG 3 left off....

Absolutely UCONN!  We need a little more separation from UoL in the standings.  UConn is 2 games back and we have already beat them, so we are hoping to be alone in 5th place right now.

1st- Great win by Marquette
2nd- The only way this game really becomes an issue is if MU loses both its next two games. Reguardless MU finishes ahead of UConn in standings (tiebreaker).

That said, I might be wrong but I think a UL win might benefit MU here. I say this because I think it may push UConn off already jam packed bubble. If UConn wins there is a 9 team BE field, with 4 teams still on the bubble (MU, UL, ND, UConn). I would say SHU is eliminated as of right now, although anything can happen in the BE tourney

I do not think the BE will get 9 teams in, but it may get 8. In the worst case scenario, if MU loses the next two and finishes 10-8 that would mean that UL would have 10 wins (win at Marquette), UConn could still get 10 wins (wins out), and ND can finish with 10 wins (wins out and win at MU)

That would be a terrible scenario because MU would have head-to-head losses @home to ND and UL. However, MU would have a win @UConn, but UConn would have a crazy good RPI and some great wins and I do not see them left out.

In that situation, MU would likely be 9th in the BE pecking order. If UConn loses today the best they can finish is 9-9 and it would be hard to pick them over MU @ 10-8 with the head to head win to boot. Also, UConns RPI shouldnt dip below 50

Have I convinced anyone?

I think you present a good case...although we should ask Chicos to get on the phone with his boy Jerry Palm and tell us which is best scenario, because I honestly don't know..but you make good points for sure.
"I'm not sure Cadougan would fix the problems on this team. I'm not even convinced he would be better for this team than DeWil is."

Something wrong with your little senario......both Uconn and ND cant finish 10-8 seeing as they play each other.

Ahhh ok. Well I still think in the worst case 2 loss scenario for MU its best if UConn is outta the mix, so I guess I wouldn't mind if they lost today and beat ND

Also, I would guess that if UL wins today they become a lock. With a loss they still need another win and will come to the BC hungry as theyve ever been. Ive seen enough heartbreak at the BC in the hands of UL

Is a real close game with 5 to go.

My man Gus Johnson is on the mike and he is getting all worked up.

Doesn't matter since MU controls its destiny.

What I do want is this game to go three overtimes
When we stop talking, really bad stuff happens.

Preston Knowles is going to destroy our guards, tuesday could be ugly

Love Gus Johnson.  Sosaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

BTW, that was a nice shot by Sosa to win it. Thats probably it for UCONN and probably in now for UL.  Maybe Tuesday is not that important/urgent to them now and they will look ahead for their season and arena ending final game against the Cuse.

Doctor V

What a great game in a great conference. Louisville with a huge win, making them a lock in my opinion since they have wins against ND and a sweep of UConn

Cuse, Nova, WVU, Pitt, GTown, LVille are in, with MU very close to being in and ND and UConn possibly playing an elimination game this week

'ville won, but had 22 turnovers.

UCONN had 22 turnovers.

UL had 15 steals, yes 15.  That is unbelievable.
