If you can't be an athlete, be an athletic supporter.

I believe the bands of Styx and Chicago all have a DePaul connection

Indeed he did.  Must be why he plays dimwits so well.

No, UWM is tier 4. They are battling with the Ville, Cincinnati, ect for tier 3 dominance. DePaul is not even the top Catholic university in their city - that distinction goes to Loyola.

after i checked my spam folder for registration confirmation , i thought id ask whether you are sure you want to use that card. as much as i love him, chris farley was the ultimate "dimwit". you guys may want to invite posters from rivals or scout for some more depaul/marquette interaction. by the way, does this list include business leaders (CEO's, founders)?  where is the marquette famous alumni thread..so i know whats "famous".

looking forward to the game on wed.

haha.  id like your take on the methodology.  im assuming youre using us news and world report.

fwiw, im from a suburb of mil. and have a decent grasp of mu and uw academics..from friends, family.

All that matters is that the school worked out best for you.  and it seems like this demon poster probably had it work out for him, as he has pride in his school

Trust me DePaul is not an idiot school, just like Marquette, or even Southern Illinois isnt an idiot school.

An idiot school, is a school that does not fit what you are looking for in an enviroment

for example.  Marquette is an idiot school if somebody wanted to go to school in a very liberal enviroment, in a farm town
on the flipside Madison would be an idiot school if you wanted to go to a conservative campus with dentistry.

I really hate when people put down others schools academics.  Who are we to judge what is good and what is not.  The only people who can judge are those who have been to both schools.

The arguement you on this board are making, is the same arguement that Badgers make about how their school is ranked higher than us.  Who freaking cares, do you think some employer is looking at two candidates and than says "you know what the guys from school "X "is an idiot, but I think I will take him because candidate "Z" school was ranked 20 spots down even though candidate Z has more experience and has some great ideas

Grow up people

on the other hand somewhere like Madison is an idiot sch

I am. I could also use the Business Week ranking for undergraduate business programs (for which I am an alumnus) which has MU at 46.

I'll start the famous MU alumni (business edition):

Founder of Texas Instruments (Mr. Heggerty?)
Richard Burke - Chairman and founder of Trek Bicycle
Gerald Rauenhorst - Founding Chairman of Opus Corp.
John Becker - Pres. / Vice Chairman Firstar Corp (US Bank)
John Stollenwerk - Chairman Allen-Edmonds Shoe Corp.

Members of Congress
Gwen Moore (WI - 4)
Donald Manzullo (IL - 16)

I'm sure there are plenty more.  This is what I came up with in 5 minutes perusing the MU website.

ajodemon
