cadougan can still choose to redshirt if he plays less than 8 games or something along those lines right? Or is that just at the beginning of the season? Does anyone know how this rule works?

its the second half of the season, so no... no redshirt.

ChicosBailBonds

It's only a 4 hour drive from Toronto to Syracuse, I'm sure that's part of why he is playing today.  His family is there to see him I assume.

And if he hadn't made the 3 or 4 three pointers earlier in the game, we would be losing by double digits.  Unfortunate that he missed the layup, terrible non-goal tending call, too many turnovers, DJO shot about 35% today, etc, etc.  If you're looking for someone to blame, there are plenty. I thought the kids played hard....if they had played this hard against DePaul we would be 3-4 right now instead of 2-5.

I asked you earlier..who would you have in the game instead of Acker?  Rob Frozena?  Cubiallan?  Cadougan in his first college basketball game?  Don't come on here and make dumb comments about Acker "not leading the charge," only passing the ball around the perimeter, and if he's only 5'7" and not really fit for penetrating a 2-3 zone - that he shouldn't be out there.  Yes..he blew the layup..but prior to that he played a very solid game and gets as much out of his physical attributes as he possibly can.
"I'm not sure Cadougan would fix the problems on this team. I'm not even convinced he would be better for this team than DeWil is."

its not his turnovers its the fact that hes not leading the charge

"leading the charge" - here we go with the bad basketball cliches again.

Mo Acker may have been our best guard on the floor today.  Buycks looked lost.  Cubillan was OK.  DJO started strong, but didn't shoot all that well when all was said and done.

warriorfred

Probably been said in other threads, but Junior looked good in limited minutes.  Some nice passes and he seemed to know where everyone was on the floor.  Also, Marquette now has an 8-man rotation, which will help in other games.

Looking forward to next year.

not to mention zero turn overs.

remember what I said about thinking and THEN posting Willie?
If you think playing the two midgets at the same time for 25 plus minutes every game is the answer to our problems---then you better engage your brain before posting!
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

Finally you make a good point...and realize you are in the big time minority with your viewpoint. Please answer my question..who would you play in place of Acker today?

How so? He shot 1 for 7 and couldn't guard a tree stump.

I don't know I just wish we could have done a little more against the zone

Really?  I didn't have the stats in front of me.  I didn't think he was that bad.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time we've looked bad against the Syracuse zone.  We've looked bad against that zone in years when we had really good guards.  They play that zone very, very well, and a lot of teams struggle.  I'm not inclined to search through old posts, but I do remember posts about how we struggled against this zone in prior years.
