I stormed the court at the Omni in Atlanta in March of '77. Hope to do it again under a similar set of circumstances.

I was on the court at the Omni that night as well.  Though, it did take us a while to "storm" down from the upper deck.

Given how excited UW is over the win (which I have no problem with), I was wondering where is the JS article on how the Badgers are not exactly going to win the National Championship?

What was that writesrs name after our UConn win in Novak's senior year?  Is she still working there?

Were you the dude who ripped off the NBC Sports banner? Nonetheless, for sports memories, there is nothing finer than that Final Four weekend in Atlanta. I hope all of my MUScoop brothers and sisters will some day experience the same feeling.

Except the fact that we hung a freaking banner in the Bradley Center to celebrate.

I think we hung a banner for winning the championship, Duke happened to be the team we beat for the championship.

I think we Tom Crean hung a banner for winning the championship, to let everyone know that he was better than Bob Knight and Coach K.  Duke happened to be the team we beat for the championship.

Have I mentioned how glad I am that he's gone? I would literally take a 12th place finish in the Big East to be rid of him (but I don't think that's going to happen).

Whoops, I think I just hijacked the topic.  

Nonetheless, I was ecstatic about those wins over Texas Tech and Duke (was at those games), and didn't understand the banner at the time.  I do (now) realize why we had that banner, and it's sad.

It may have been hokey to hang those banners.  But, sad..thats not the case.  TC hung those as part of his "philosophy" of his team playing for championships.  Simply a hokey motivational tool.  Probably should just have done that at The Al, if at all.  Different strokes for (admittedly) different folks.
