the best part of this is that that kind of score for a little-11 matchup isn't even a little surprising.

I don't know, I expect Big Ten games to cover 80 points at least.

Just texted my buddy thats a little 11 fan about this game.  His response: "Good defense all around...i like it."  Puh-leeze.  Anybody got a good comeback for me to use?

Big 10 Basketball.  It's FAN-tastic!

Doug Gottlieb yesterday said the Big Ten was going to institute some cost cutting measures due to the economic climate we are in.  Essentially, they were going to remove the third digit from the scoreboard as no Big Ten game will ever reach 100 points.

interested to know what the field goal percentages were..., how many turn overs, steals and so on.  By the way, tonight I watched Northwestern beat Ohio State in a game that almost doubles the PSU/IL score.  And NW slows down the game as much as possible, shooting only at the expiration of the shot clock.

Buzz should use this game, along with other Big Ten games last week scoring in the 40's, as a recruiting tool.  "Do you really want to play like this"????

PSU: 28% FG, 13TO, 8steals

Ill 30% FG, 15 TO, 3 steals

PSU had only 8 fouls, which is impressive.

Not really.  With a bunch of big slow white guys standing around until the shot clock expires there aren't going to be a lot of fouls.

I'd pit a MU student team comprised of all of the winners of the musical chairs layup game from halftime against any team in the Big 11.  At least we know those kids can run the court and make a layup.

Even the watching the "good" BigTen teams play--that Purdue/MichSt. game the other day comes to mind--makes me want to claw my eyes out.  The games are just ugly, physical, cage matches, with countless bricked shots.

Pretty sure a lineup of Acker, Cubillan, Fulce, Hazel, and Otule could have hung 40 up last night.

And given up 50.

But seriously, what was the halftime score of the UW/MSU game when UW made the final four?  19-17?  That was an offensive *explosion* compared to last night's game.  How do two "major" college basketball teams not manage to score at least a point a minute?

I'm not so sure about that!

Could it possibly have been worse?    Shoot from midcourt on every possession and you will hit 11 in 40 minutes

Bo Ryan plays the tape of the game once a week before practice to show the team how a great game is played.

I don't even think Gus Johnson could have made this game watchable.

Dick Bennett makes Bo Ryan look like Paul Westhead.
