In the meantime, I'm not selling my AAPL stock. Not buying more now, either; even after yesterday's pullback, it's still overvalued IMHO.

Yes. Very overvalued. $50 to $75 stock per Heisy aina.

Quote from: Heisenberg on April 29, 2016, 03:59:05 PMApril 29, 2016 (today), Apple stock is $93.74, below the iPhone5 release.

The problem ... in the post Jobs era, Apple has no new product release.  The watch was a bust and the iPad was introduced in 2010.  Apple desperately needs a post Steve Jobs product hit, something Tim Cook has not been able to create.

If Apple is now merely a replacement cycle** company, it has been the tech equivalent of an auto company.  Auto companies trade at a 5 or 6 PE.  That means Apple is a $50 to $75 dollar stock.

** Replacement cycle = marginally better refresh of the iPhone, the iPad, the Mac etc.  The purpose is to offer a new model to buy when you current model breaks.  Think an auto company introducing new models every year.  No one runs to the dealer to buy them (save some specialty models) but they are really to entice you to buy once you're done with your current car and ready for a new one.

Why is the stock getting crushed now?  This week they released their Q1 2016 earnings and for the first time since the iPhone was introduced in 2007, year-over-year sales was lower.  80% of Apple's revenue is the iPhone.

The fear is moving forward Apple is population growth plus replacement of busted phones (roughly every two years).  That is not a growth stock!

Quote from: 21Jumpstreet on June 26, 2026, 07:35:22 AMAbsolute gut punch, Muggs. Game started at 4am here in the Adriatic, and it was difficult to see the last touch end the fight. USA was much better in 2H, Pulisic changes the entire shape and flow of the game. I'm in the camp that it did matter to win, but I understand the black and white in me says it didn't. I'm very positive on the boys, and I think this experience pays dividends later in the tourney. Someone we don't expect will make a tourney changing play.

Zlatan and Henry made great points after the match.  They said the most important outcome of the US match was "MINUTES".  Minutes for backups, for the rusty/lower performing guys, for different formations.  Be competitive, no injuries, no yellows for anyone carrying and yellow, and look to Bosnia.  And that's what they did.  The backups (for the most part) were competitive and not overmatched against a Turkey squad of guys playing for Juventus, Real Madrid, Roma and Dortmund, plus a bunch from Champions League tested and experienced Galatasary side.  The final goal sucked because of 3-4 glaring errors in the final sequence, but shouldn't impact any feelings about the performance or the goal of the match.

Quote from: 21Jumpstreet on June 26, 2026, 07:35:22 AMAs an aside, Gio could never see the pitch again for country, and I wouldn't lose sleep. Also, Berhalter makes things happen. C'mon boys!

I'm really conflicted with Berhalter.  He's better than I thought he was 6-12 months ago, but he's still very inconsistent and not there yet.  Outside of his assist, he was pretty terrible in the first half.  Better in the second half, but still inconsistent.  He's nowhere near pushing for big minutes, but he is very good dead ball and occasional crosses, so he looks better than he is.  He's terrible tracking back defensively and struggles in possession.

I think the Derby move will be very good for him as he gets seasoning in a tougher league.

  • June 11 to Present: 10-3 (.769) Best in MLB

Most teams that aren't Mets, Giants, and Rockies would go 9-2 against the Mets, Giants, and Rockies  ;D

I think most of the Cubs roller coaster is a product of their schedule. Cubs are currently 20-24 against teams with a run differential higher than -20 (and 6-1 of that is against the Phillies before they changed managers). They're 24-13 against teams below that. Their schedule has featured two long stretches of soft teams where to their credit, they took care of business. Once the schedule picked up, they spiraled.

Cubs haven't won a series against a team with better than a -47 run differential since May 3rd. Gonna need to see more against good teams before I believe they are back.

Of course now that I've posted this, they are going to sweep the Brewers.

I guess when you give up 285 RBI to Dansby Swanson in one series, that's the last straw!

People can wait to upgrade for years of the price and tech isn't worth it.

I don't disagree. The nice thing is we'll get to see what happens!

Quote from: MuggsyB on June 26, 2026, 11:13:26 AMJust a warning to those who travel quite a bit:  Never, and I mean ever, rent a car from Sixt.  They sent me some bcrap claim about a scratch on the car 2 months after I returned it to the Miami airport.  These people fked with the wrong customer, and matters have been taken care of, but these scumsuckers tried to scam ms out of $1600 dollars.  Under no conditions rent a vehicle from them.  Period.

Yeah always do a video walk around before and after your rental.  I've dealt with some super shady places as well.  In Miami, we got some off brand place and they transported you to their location away from the airport.  Then they required you to buy their insurance or prove to them you have insurance by providing all of the information.  They could have mentioned this prior to arrival, but they don't because they pressure you into buying their insurance... which is VERY expensive.  It added an hour to our rental pick up... so you can bet your ass that we did a full run down of the car we rented.  Video inside and out.

Anyone who tries to come after you should be dismissed.  They're just fishing for suckers.
