When I was young I lumped loads coming into the Kohls and Roundy's warehouses. The notion of Mr. Kohls successes motivated me to rise above that.

He was a good man. As Rico noted, big Al and MU basketball guy back in the day. While I did not know him well, this news made me sad.
sat behind him at a bucks game once. nice guy. introduced us to the original owner of the minneapolis lakers...yes minneapolis. kept the bucks on the map in milwaukee
After he sold he gave a ridiculous amount of money back to Bucks employees. Guys in middle management who were making 95K got 6 figure checks. Bradley Center ushers got 10K. He was one of one.
He also has done a bunch of other charitable things that he has never been recognized for. He loved Milwaukee, loved Wisconsin and was a true philanthropist.
Kind of wild that we lost Herb Kohl and Herbert Kohler within the span of 16 months
