Has to be Stevie. Boum scored efficiently, but Stevie big boyed him like Jrue does on some of those steals. And carried us offensively some.
I'll forget how bad OMax has been lately for that tip in.
Stevie F**kin Mitchell was HIM tonight.
Steven Mitchell
S&M
If it ain't Stevie, discontinue the award.
OMax woke up just in time. I'm tempted to go with him for the winning tip.
But it was Stevie Mitchell who was huge on both ends of the floor.
Stevie
Stevie..and it's no contest. The character and heart of that kid shone through tonight on a huge stage. Incredible performance.
Stevie, hands down and whatever other cliche one can use. One helluva performance!!!
Stud Stevie
Star OMax
Mitchell.
Stevie Mitchell
Stevie and it's not close.
Stevie then OMax for the incredible finisher!!!
STEVIE!! Way to keep us in the game
Without Stevie, we lose by double digits.
This is not to take away from anyone else but Stevie is the heart of this team, IMO.
Stevie Mitchell
Sir Stevie
Stevie with no one else close
Stevie Mitchell. Period
No arguments!
Jop
STE VIE
Stevie Wonder!
I was thinking Stevie but I was PO'd on how Boum used him. Then I thought about the steals that led to baskets. Then I thought about the offensive rebounds (two on one possession). Gotta love the kid.
Stevie.
Stevie SOTG
OMax hero
Stevie!
Shout out to OMG Prosper.
Mitchell. Easy.
Obviously, Stevie Mitchell.
Stevie gets this one and the next two just on principle
Stevie F-ing Mitchell.

A lot of that was bad switching on our part.

Stevie for sure.
Obviously Stevie F'ing Mitchell. Almost as obvious as that one Tyler got for 24, 9 and 10.
Stevie Mitchell
108.8 ortg, 10.9 turnover rate, 3.5 steal rate
Tyrese Hunter
96.8 ortg, 18.3 turnover rate, 1.5 steal rate
Marquette got the right guy
Stevie. Next.
Mitchell literally willed us to the win. Incredible

I disagree on that, Mitchell was recruited as a point guard, he is not that. Hunter is a true point, Wojo should have taken both, he went to Hunter first who was undecided, and decided to wait. Getting Kolek in the long run worked out for all three.

Helluva performance Stevie. That is the epitome of Marquette toughness!

Based on the numbers, Hunter ain't running point at Texas

He's sharing the point with Marcus Carr.
Stevie Mitchell energized that arena more than anyone else on that court tonight.
Every ounce of that energy was needed for that win.
Honorable mention domino to the student that sunk the put in the 1H and got the people going.
That crowd was electric tonight, Stevie's head and heart were in the game all night.
Thank you Stevie

Well, he has a higher turnover rate than assist rate, so he's not a very good point guard

Hunter ain't running point. its Carr.
The fact that Stevie has been better than Hunter this year is insane and nice

If you think assist to turnover rate is important for a PG, sure.
Stevie without any doubt.
Stevie ! ! ! 8-)
Watch 5 minutes of Texas. Hunter is not a PG lol
Super honorable mention to each of the freahmen; I know none of them played down the stretch but each one of them came off the bench in the first half and gave us energy to get us back in the thing!!!
Stevie was the catalyst tonite, unreal how hes putting it all together
Marketing department
SM ... easy one - lots of struggle bus tonight but D sees you through that sometimes and he starts the D!
Stevie
I rarely vote...........Stevie in a landslide!
Stevie
Stevieeeeeeee
His defense was like a swarm of bees.
Boum did shoot 10-15, but also had 7 turnovers thanks to Steve.
Stevie can buy himself flowers
Stevie was dynamite.
To quote Joe Chapman's tweet: "Stevie Mitchell MVP! Those r the type of players that win you championships! Dog mentality! Guards, get 50/50 balls, extra offensive rebounds, deflections, nose on the ball! Understands and values the ball! He's the X factor for a deep run @MarquetteMBB"
Stevie, he's a dude.
Gotta add that while Jop and OMax were trrble, the mental toughness to drain a huge three and get a tip back dunk at the end is massive. Hopefully they both get back on track

Spot on. Of course, Joe Chapman can recognize the value of a role player contributing to a deep run just by looking in the mirror.
Stevie Mitchell was a whirling dervish. He gets SOTG, but big honorable mention to O-Max for that clutch tip.
Stevie Mitchell is the unsung hero team of this team. He was SOTG imo and very happy for him. He did a dozen little things tonight on top of the big things. Great job by Stevie!!

Yep. I spent a good chunk of the second half yelling at Jop and others for not communicating about the screens and not stepping up. They left Stevie out to dry at least a half-dozen times. Boum did beat Stevie clean a couple times, but Stevie had to always watch for the screens.
Stevie played incredibly most of the night at both ends and is easily the SOTG.
But props to Oso for a really nice game - 14 points, 6 boards, 3 assists, only 1 TO, good D all night and those two huge swishes from the line.

Stevie by a mile. If O-Max wasn't so bad for 38 minutes we probably wouldn't have needed the heroic tip in.
Ones for the game winning tip.
Omax for the game winning tip.
OMax was the stud of the last 5 minutes and gets full credit from me for staying with it.
Stevie
With 6 steals it has to be Stevie.
Remember how we said in many of the wins we have major contributions from multiple people, making SOTG a difficult choice? Yeah, this isn't one of those. He imposed his will making that first basket and never looked back.

Fanta nails it. "The pride of Reading, PA"
I remember all of two weeks ago when Scoop was suggesting that Chase take more of Stevie's minutes...
Stevie.
When he scored the first points of the night, I said to my wife, "Any offense he gives us is a bonus." Little did I know that he'd end up leading the team in scoring.

I said something very similar to my wife, along the lines of "a guy who isn't much of an offensive threat just made a nice play to open the scoring for Marquette."
I also say Stevie for SOTG.
STEE - VEE !!
That's what a stud looks like
Stevie single-handedly bought MU about 10 extra possessions with energy and toughness. On a night we couldn't hit anything, the extra possessions were everything. Absolute stud last night.
Stevie is a wonder!
Stevie. He was my wife's "pick to click" before the game and he came out strong. Boum may have had a good game, but Stevie was living in Boum's head rent-free during the 2H. On top of it all, Stevie Roy Kent'd on the offensive side.

Stevie is just as important to this team's success as any of the other starters. His box score might not pop, but he makes winning plays every single night.
