With MU doing so well I haven't focused on Super Bowl since Packers were eliminated .
That said , I think The Chiefs have the edge . Mahomes, when healthy, is pretty much unstoppable . Kielce is also very hard to cover , gets so wide open.
Eagles have some bruising players that could make it interesting .

My boys and I were just talking about how Marquette's season has been our focus and how it has overshadowed the SB, even watching golf to some degree. I think it is great that MU basketball took most of our sporting attention this winter.
As for SB, I agree on KC and placed a wager with a buddy. I think Mahomes is a better QB and their experience Carrie's them to victory.
Now that is out of the way, I can't with for the X game!! A big home game in mid February is the best.
Mahomes is the best, and he's such a joy to watch. I want KC to win.
But I can't help thinking he'll be running for his life -- as was the case in the SB against Tampa, except this time he's on a gimpy ankle.
The Eagles' defensive and offensive lines are really good, and their running game is tough thanks to their line, their backs and Hurts.
Eagles 27, Chiefs 17.
In other words ... get your bets down on KC!
Rooting for the Chiefs. I think the Eagles win handily.
For the sake of Packers fans, here's hoping the Eagles win so Mahomes doesn't have more rings than Rodgers

Thanks. Appreciate the support .
My former boss' son is on KC's practice squad, so I've been rooting for the Chiefs (and injuries to their OLine) all year.
His son could buy 20 (?) SB tickets .. their whole family is in Phoenix and enjoying the KC staff parties. Such a cool experience for them.
I have managed to avoid all pre-game hype. About all I know is that Reid thinks Mahomes will be fine. Go, footballers.
Hurts plays horrible in the first half. Gets benched at halftime and Tua leads them to a national championship.
What's on your Super Bowl menu?

NFL actually flew a fake Damar Hamlin in for the pregame.
Let's go Eagles!! Son says Philly is alive. Hopefully he gets a day off school for the parade.
It says a lot about the genius of the NFL that they've been able to turn a player nearly dying during a game into heartwarming endorsement of the league's virtue.

He's not the best colorman in the league for nothing.
They should play a patriotic song at the beginning of each possession

Definitely. He grabbed him when he started the break. He would have been very open if it wasn't for the hold at the top of the route.

That last angle showed more of a jersey grab.
I think he slipped. But nfl wants their poster boy to win.

It will be debated for a while.
IMO, weak, but there was a jersey grab. By definition, a hold. And no, you will not see that called every week.

I very much wanted the Eagles to win, but a) It was a hold, b) Chefs were going to score either way, just gave the Eagles less time and c) it's a bad argument to say the refs should have ignored that hold because they miss other holds.

Kelce's got a good future in the WWE
I think if it was called in the first quarter, no one would really bat an eyelash. The fact that it decided the game makes it a bummer.
Really a borderline penalty. Maybe the slight jersey tug was at the top of the route but that's not when the official threw his flag.
Tough way to end a very good game.
Mahomes is really something. And credit to the KC offensive line, too.
There are some folks who think you call a game the same way at the end as you do in the first quarter. I never could understand that mentality. You don't want a game decided by the referees unless its absolutely necessary-see the KC-Bengals game.
Garbage call.
Doubt it would have made a huge difference, but after Mahomes takes a five yard loss, as soon as KC broke their huddle, Eagles should have committed intentional offsides and made contact with a Chiefs player. Would have been half the distance, but clock would have stopped. Would have saved probably seven seconds at the end.
The PI call was weak, no doubt, and benefitted KC.
The catch/fumble call was weak and benefitted the Eagles by erasing a TD.
At worst, the refs were a wash.

Thanks for adding that. I hadn't heard it.
Looking at it both live and in replays, I thought it was borderline. But if the player admits it, I mean, what can you say? I guess it was a good call. Still a disappointing ending to a fine Super Bowl.
Most surprising thing tonight was how bad Philly's defense was in the second half. They should have been fresh, KC only had the ball for around nine minutes in the first half.
Mahomes was clearly injured the last KC offensive play of the first half (zero doubt he had a Teradol shot at half). But still no scheme to force him left at all early in the second half to force pressure on the ankle (that I can remember). Just a very passive approach by Gannon.

Yup. Philly's defense was the most disappointing unit in the game by a large margin.

As a Giants fan I have no love for the Eagles, but I just hate those 50/50 flags that actually determine the outcome of the game.
If you don't want a penalty to determine the outcome of a game, then don't commit the penalty.
And I would suggest it is completely unknown if it determined the outcome. The Eagles still would have had to at least get into FG range.
It sure seems likely that one of those happens in nearly every play of every game.
So, call it or don't. But be consistent

I've never officiated football, but I do basketball and baseball. You try to be consistent, and you call what you see when you see it. You're human, so you don't see some fouls/violations/plays/strikes/etc as well as you see others. The official was right there and he saw what he saw on that particular play so he threw the flag, and Bradbury later confirmed the hold.
I don't love the call, but I understand it.

Exactly. We don't know if it would have decided the result. It simply would have given the Eagles a chance.
I hated the call, but the simple solution is don't hold.
The Big Blunder for the Eagles was the fumble return for a touchdown. When teams are evenly matched , plays like that are usually hard to over come .
Mahomes will make a team pay every time they make a mistake like that .

I bet you could look at that play and find a textbook example of holding on the O line comparable with the defensive hold they called.
It was a bush league call.

That may not be holding, actually.
See: Rule 12, Section 1, Article 3, Note 1.i.
Anyhow, the one guy who would have the most legit beef about the call if it were wrong has said it was not wrong.
For what its worth, I think defensive holding could be called every play, but that specific type of defensive holding gets called every time. That inside-out route, completely iso in man coverage is an extremely visible, dynamic route. Plus the release out and up will expose any kind of jersey tug and make it look even worse than it is. Its not like using an arm to slow a guy down on post 15 yards down the field or something. I felt a little let down to not get to see the Eagles get the ball back, but its a great play design that kind of intentionally puts the ref in a tough position.
