Really.

As weird as it feels to type that, the biggest thing going for MU is how the schedule breaks out going forward.

Wow. That graph makes the path to a Big East title easy to see. Go 1-2 in the remaining Q1 games and take care of the bottom feeders. Get er done fellas! Go MU!
A lot of white at the bottom for Marquette. Go Marquette!
A a Cubs fan, I'll remind folks that MU had a 99% chance at the #1 BET seed in 2018-19...just needing one win in their last four (with two at home) to clinch it. And then a letter was written.
With a nod to Coach Cal, let's take away their pens and paper.

You are not wrong, peaked at 95.1% chance for at least a share on Feb 25th.
But as a fellow Cubs fan, going with the full Montero. This team is much better.*
*Will issue refunds if Oso gets hurt.
Yes.
I announced this on 1/18, with a caveat of IF they win at Seton Hall.
Well they won at Seton Hall, so we midas whale fast forward to the hardware!

MU now an OK chance to set the program record for wins in a season, too. And a few fairly realistic paths to get there. 23-8 + BET title + Elite 8 would do it. Add and subtract a win from whatever column you'd like would also do it. i.e 24-7 + BET title + Sweet 16, or 24-7 + BET runner-up + Elite 8.

Earlier in the season was was very concerned about MU's recent history of February swoons. They've since convinced me that they are for real.

Wow.
You guys are really getting ahead of yourselves. Let's just win at DP , and the next two at home ( very doable) and go from there ...

Is the "midas whale" like the "golden calf"? 🤣
Hopefully not. We don't want any of these young men doubting Shaka or their ultimate Source. I think you just did it acci-DENTAL-ly. 🦷 🏀

Let's not get Muggsy on us about appropriating whales
We could get him really outraged if we disparaged Whales on Wells.

Don't you dare!
My favorite "message boards should only play one game at a time" post.

Exactly. Don't see how it's any different than talking about preseason projections in October. Except at this point of the season, we have more concrete data and thus the conversation is more educated.
I don't remember anyone saying "don't talk about them picking us ninth, we gotta get through Radford and CMU first."
When Marquette loses Saturday, it'll be solely on the shoulders of the bloggers
Loved that place.
It's interesting that X hasn't visited any of the big boys.

I'm fairly sure that Wales was my first meal after arriving at Marquette. That place was great.
It seems X has the toughest schedule by far:
AT, MU, Prov, UCONN, SH and SJU.
They will pick up multiple loses

They are in Omaha on Saturday and I'm pretty sure they'll be leaving with a loss.
MU is in Chicago on Saturday...insert text here...
Xavier is the current betting favorite at -115 to win the BE regular season. Marquette 2nd behind them at +170. I consider this a bit of a rare departure from Vegas reliance on Kenpom predictive analytics and (as crazy as it would have sounded a couple months ago) some decent, not super great, value on Marquette at +170. Xavier certainly overpriced though. What really blows my hair back is Marquette priced in at 8-1 to make the Final Four (40-1 to win it all).

Absolutely. We used to go there a lot during the late 80s. Sad to see most of the Wells Street places gone. Long live Real Chili.

They are only the betting favorite because they currently have 1 less loss. That will change Wednesday and it should be tied at +130 or Marquette given the nod given Xaviers remaining opponents.
