This makes total sense, and the results match what epidemiologists and other experts in the field have been saying for a long time now.
I bought a couple of cloth masks that have little pockets in which filters can be inserted. One of my wife's friends is an infectious disease doctor, and he actually recommends them for those who find N95s to be too uncomfortable. I like that these give me a nice combination of comfort and Covid protection.

Really is incredible how just a couple weeks ago when Youngkin removed the school mask mandate in VA there were lawsuits and accusations that he was a child killer being thrown at him and now a couple weeks later we're all aligned that masks no bueno in school.

Too busy mourning the millions dead. So many needlessly because they were smarter than science, tougher than the virus, and listened to quacks and grifters.
And once this over, hopefully many things will be addressed, improved, and dealt with. Learning nothing from all of this would be an even greater tragedy.

Lots of people still dying from Covid. February 2022 has been one of the most deadly months in the 2+ years of the pandemic. This in spite of vaccines, boosters, social distancing, masking, school closings, etc., - and as a bonus we got more suicides, mental illnesses, drug addiction, alcohol abuse, obesity, failed businesses, regular crime, violent crime and (maybe worst of all) the most disadvantaged of our children being left hopelessly behind academically and socially.
Easing restrictions is mostly about enough people saying they've had enough. We've reached that tipping point. Science has very little (if anything) to do with it. It will be used as cover, but only the most naive or jaded will believe it.

Cases are going down from the peak - which we hit about a month ago. They're still higher than they were for most of the pandemic. We've had periods much lower than this and restrictions weren't lifted. When the independents and even some Dems finally say "no mas" our leaders finally listen.

Because we aren't and haven't been a serious nation in a long time. We could have saved a lot of trials and tribulations had we had a serious plan in place, which we did but it got scrapped. And I think that if we get a serious pandemic (not that this one was not serious, but I can foresee a pandemic that is more deadly or more contagious) our response to this pandemic shows us that we are totally fucked as a country. "In spite of" isn't really the right term as it implies those things don't work. They work just fine, miraculously in fact in the case of vaccines and boosters.
It's been one of the deadliest months not in spite of all those things, but because people refuse to take advantage of all those things because they've listened to disinformation.

Last night sounded more like a convention nomination speech than an actual SOTU.
But when you have no accomplishments of note, you gotta talk about something
They're literally all like this. Imagine listening to any of these things and expecting anything of substance.
You old guys have bad memories.

Maybe it was the squinting at the teleprompter, butchering words (do trump next), chuck and Nancy standing at the wrong time, etc.
And if I'm old, so are you kin.
Squinting. LOL.
I guess when you're used to listening to the President of the United States repeatedly praising Putin, dumping on our allies, and endlessly trying to glorify and enrich himself, all while reading the teleprompter at a 3rd-grade level, a "normal" SOTU address by a regular-guy president who actually cares about Americans can seem pretty boring.

I mean, I am old, but you're older. If only a few years (what is it, five?).
I don't have the old man mentality, though.
Ahh yes the old "if you criticize this admin, I'll bring up Trump cause you must love him" despite neither of the other two ever vocally supporting him even though they sit on the opposite side of the aisle to you.
Mike, It's ok to say Biden is disappointing or less than ideal in some areas without it being an implicit endorsement of your favorite boogeyman. Hard as that is to process.

Ahh yes the old pretend to take no sides without criticizing the folks who changed the subject to the SOTU.
Wags, I have said many times that Biden has had plenty of eff-ups. Thank goodness one of them isn't hero worship of a murderous dictator who would love nothing more than to wipe America off the face of the earth.
How 'bout that Covid and those masks though, eh? IBTL x2.
