It better not be Al or Alfred or something similar.
Goldy or Goldie?
Diener.

I disagree. Every mascot needs a name. In fact, it's suprising that it already doesn't.
Buzz the Eagle is my choice. (It would be more appropriate for a bald eagle, but alas.)
Kudos to the Athletic Dept for giving me an entire weekend to build my faux outrage on whatever the choice is to appropriate levels.

Apollo. As in the eagle has landed and tie into us retiring the number 11.
I like Jacques personally. If you wanted to tie it to a Marquette person, Hank would be a good one. Especially because he did so much for sports other than basketball.
Of all the suggestions so far, Jacques has grown on me the most.

The Washington Nationals mascot is an eagle named Screech, already.
The Mascot should be named Joan.
Actually, we should be known as the Warriors and have Joan of Arc as our mascot, but without that, we should name the bird Joan.

Iggy the Eagle has a nice ring to it. It will be interesting to see how they market this. Will be fun for the kids.
Bucky is such a staple in this state and used a ton in their marketing. I don't think we will ever get near that point due to the change from Warriors and Golden Eagles is kind of blah.

Iggy is just very Jesuit-generic. Its not bad. There are just already 3 Loyola schools that make more sense to have a mascot named Iggy.

I'm kind of surprised in the press release, they named the other Jesuit schools with that nickname. Sort of showing how common it is and not all that original.

Anything with Gold reinforces a poor selection of a Golden Eagle mascot.
How about "BEAST" so the mascot can go into "BEAST MODE" when we need it from our fans and team.
A better mascot would be "BIG FOOT" or another BEAST that goes into "BEAST MODE" at critical stages in the game. We want to project extreme strength, not a bird that has been known to eat carrion meat in the winter.

Nachos at the ballpark where I can evenly dip each chip to the amount that I want? Perfect
Nachos at a bar where ingredients are haphazardly piled on a pile of chips so each bite is uneven and impossible to get a decent mouthful and are surely left with chips with no toppings at the end? Awful
It's like when you get a poorly made/mixed burrito and your bite is all rice or lettuce or salsa

I actually agree with you to an extent. An order of nachos at a restaurant that does it right is great, but some places just don't do a good job of making the nachos. I'd rather have just some tortilla chips and a quality nacho cheese to dip them in over the latter.
If you're in Chicago, Tuco & Blondie on Southport puts all the toppings on each individual chip. They call it the Holy Grail Nachos.
To be clear, the nachos I ate last night were homemade.
Here is a hint for great shredded chicken for nachos. You know those grocery rotisserie chickens I raved about earlier? Oftentimes the stores will debone the leftovers, package and sell them. Just heat that sucker up with a jar of ChiChis hot and chuncky salsa, and you have perfect shredded chicken.
No more than ten minutes tops.
