Had a good game...and took one for the team!
Good for Joey.
With the way he's been playing lately, I think it's safe to say he may get a few more of these this year
He played balls to the wall
He's really groin into his role.
This thread has potential.
Joey is the BEast freshman of the week? That's just nuts.
When he signed with MU over UW, I think we all saw that Joey's pen is strong. Now we know for sure.
Sorry, my puns are a work in progress.... ::)

He clearly is the jewel of the freshman class.

Winner, winner...A thoroughbred breeding syndicate named Team Valor once raced, and now breeds an Irish stallion named Golden Balls.
No question that he has the stones to be a major player in the Big East.
Onions!
Hopefully, Joey gets a sac-ful of these awards this year...
Will deserved. It took some real cajones to make some of those shots right in Happs face
I was telling my wife that Joey seems to be our best option in a scoring drought. Dude sniffs out baskets.
Do I see a Jockey commercial coming?

I use 2UNDR. Their patented system to keep the boys dry is called a "Joey pouch." Slam dunk.

Thankfully, he's neither a Badger nor a member of the SWLouisiana (UL-Lafayette) Ragin Cajones
He certainly did not get shafted with this award

While Joey sniffs out baskets..Brad's game is overrated...always did strike me as a wannabe/ jock "sniffer"

Ha. He will continue to elevate his game.
Wonder if after winning award BE officials asked Hows-ur balls"? 8-)
I personally think he deserved to be the SOTG but that is nether here nor there
Joey needs to forget about this award so he can focus on his final testis for the semester
The first in what will be a fantestic career at MU.
I can see Joey racking up a lot of these.
Congrats for coming out on top vs. some stiff competition.
He is doing a great job of growing and showing what he has to offer this team
is this a pubic award or more of a private matter?
I really deteste the level of maturity in this thread.....thank goodness Joey is made of stiffer stuff

Austin Grandstaff is impressed by Joey's fortitude when it comes to the hardwood.
Don't be Hard On me, but it seems to me this thread has Come Up before.
Btw, Whatever happened to Austin Grandstaff?

Grandstaff left DePaul and began a music career. He has some stuff on I-tunes and youtube.
A regular Lance Bass.

Marty, find out where the police are going to be taking him. Send over a bottle of bubbly with a bucket of ice and a card. Have it say, "Tough break, get drunk on me. Use the bucket to ice down your marbles, Yours, Z."
there has to be something that can be done with sausage eater extraordinary Joey Chestnut.

Brad was just getting into the Christmas season and wanted to audition for the upcoming play at Madison "The Nutcracker"
It is a pleasure to watch him take it to the hole with authority!
Wait - that was weird...

Apparently he's about as good at that as he is at D1 basketball because he is now at Texas A&M Commerce.

Dude must be on the verge of setting some kind of record. Ohio State, Oklahoma, DePaul, and now TA&M-Commerce...and he's still just listed as a Junior. Four schools, with another year of eligibility remaining? C'mon, Austin - see if you can make it five or six!
Would have been a real dick move for the BEast to give this award to anybody but Joey, who sources say celebrated with a delicious Nutty Buddy treat.

On a related note, I just bought a new cup for my umpiring work. It's also called the Nutty Buddy.

Joey has showed some real stones in some of these big games this year, but he definitely gets testy when things aren't going the way the team wants. Playing as well as he is is really hard, do you think he can do it all year long?
Getting serious for one second (sorry), I now do see why so many folks said Joey could end up being better than Sam.
Thrilled to have this kid in our program. Double-thrilled to have both Hausers.
Thanks, Bo!

Joey will not be off the draft charts for long. High ceiling for the kid.
I think Markus is so low because of his height, and that he really doesn't have much at all to offer at the next level other than his scoring talent, which will be even harder to use with the added height and athleticism of defenders at the next level

to be fair Nate robinson made a decent little career being a short guy that could only offer scoring

good point. Maybe he good be the Curry of NBA shorties
Markus is a poor man's Kemba Walker.
Their games and body types are similar. Kemba, however, has an amazing handle and, to return to the theme of most of this thread, a huge set of onions. Markus is a better pure shooter than Kemba was at this stage.

I hope he is off the draft charts for the next 3 years.
Who cares? It's a junk award anyway.
Kemba Walker led the nation in scoring his junior year I believe, at least he was at the point I got to see him come in to the Bradley Center and leave with a win in 2011. He's also 2 inches taller than Markus, and averaged twice as many steals, and was a slightly better distributor going on their assist numbers. Only way I see Markus getting drafted is if he leads MU on a run that could hope to be even close to the one that Walker led UConn on to win the title in 2011. Markus is a better pure scorer than he was at the same stage but nothing else.

Also, Nate Robinson was extremely athletic. He had a huge vertical and was really strong. That's not Howard.

I wouldn't argue any of this.
Hence:
Poor man's Kemba Walker.
