Generally impressed with the Fiserv last night except for one major problem. The cold air blowing on us from behind was really annoying. We sit along the sideline a few rows from the top of the lower bowl. There was literally a cold wind blowing on our backs the entire game. I looked around and others close to us had hoodies and coats on. My buddy said he couldn't wait to get outside to "warm up". Did anyone else have a similar experience? Were they running the AC last night and just have it out of adjustment? Is there anyone to talk to about that who can get it changed. The closest ducts seem to be pretty far up so its kind of hard to tell what was causing this. I suggested that if this was getting all the way to the court maybe that was why both teams shot so poorly. They were COLD ;D
My seats are 3rd row of sec 208. It was extremely cold. Everyone was bundled up like a fall Packer game. Distracted us from the game for sure.
Was wondering if maybe there was better margins on hot chocolate sales vs the $12 beers?
Wear a sweater
Have you seen those 4 giant (20-foot diameter?) air circulation fans up in the rafters? I noticed the cool temperature, as well -- and even saw a fan sitting ahead of me who wore her winter coat and knit hat the entire game. Hopefully they'll get that balanced out. I doubt it's enough to affect play on the court.

That last part was a joke son
Yeah. It was cold in the new grad area with that constant breeze. I tried to convince myself and my girlfriend it was coming from outside on the new deck area. Apparently I was very wrong. I owe her a beer.
Sheesh really hoping that stuff stops.

Ohhhhhhhh, so that's how a sweater vest fan is born!
Apparently, if you sit in last 5-8 rows of the lower bowl, you get a draft from the open concourse...especially if you're closer to the aisle. People sitting further down from there are not feeling the draft, so I hear.
I felt a little chilly walking the lower concourse before the game. I didn't notice it when I got to the upper deck.
Sitting in row 6 0f 207 we felt the draft coming down from above us all night.
215 row 6 was really cold. At least the band mic was not as bad this time around?
Hmmm Maybe not as "world class" as hyped? Ridiculous honestly

I guess we know why the option of hanging up coats is not as widely available this year.

I was in 103 and then went up to the Panorama Club (seen it once now, that's all I need), and then sat with some friends in 212 for a bit. Thought all 3 spots were warm.
We're in Sec 119 row 20. It was fine most of the game until about 10 mins left in the game. Had to put our coats on

Section 116 cold again. Spoke to one of the ushers about it. She said a number of people have said the same thing. She "hopes it will get better as we get into winter." Well it was below freezing at game time yesterday so I really don't think getting into winter is going to help. I'd really like to find some way to get the complaints to someone who can take some action. Anybody have any ideas?
Bethune-Cookman's coach was blowing into his hands just before tipoff
It was very cold, draft blowing down my neck all game.
Also i sit 2nd row upper middle and when i got up to leave my knees hurt like hell all the way up them damn steps.
I figure lost 2-3 inches of leg room from the BC.
Next year i am downstairs.
I bet they keep the air conditioning on all year, as punishment for not taking lowers.

Mr Nielsen is our hope.
I feel powerless on this one if the Fiserv Forum staff is aware of this. I will ask my Marquette people tomorrow about this cold breeze to see if they are aware of this. Another idea is to email the Bucks to see if there aware. The Bucks have tons of ticket member staff workers that would get back to you with some sort of answer.
I sit in section 114, row 14. I just feel a slight breeze on the back of my neck. Feels fine with my sweatshirt on. That said, when I entered the building in the lobby, I did feel like it was cold.
SEC 116 - ROW 12
Everyone in our row was freezing. There was a strong cold current blowing down on our necks most of the game.
There is definitely a design issue.
We are bringing hoodies for the next game!
I love the cool air but I guess I'm in the minority on this one. Much rather have a bit of a chill than sit somewhere and be uncomfortably hot for 2+ hours.
I spoke with a manager who had a clipboard and was getting feedback from observations of food service. He said they collect feedback every game. Talked about the cold. They are very aware. He didn't have any answers. He mentioned to me how Idina Menzel remarked about the cold when she opened for Josh Groban.
Also had concern about no kid sized beverages and the concession workers who are more interested in visiting with each other than getting your order

Since the admirals no longer share a venue, the ice is not kept around under the courts like at the BC. It's only made when they have a planned event that'll need it.
The cold is definitely blowing down from above.

Correct. The cost would be way too high. There is no permanent ice at Fiserv Forum. The ice shows they will have are a stage set up anyways. Meaning it will not be a hockey rink type set up. Also, the final two years MU was at the BC, the ice has been gone. It's season three that the Admirals are playing at UWM Panther Arena.
Beer lines were quick and easy.
But it is drafty. I'm guessing they'll work it out in the next couple weeks.

Well, this would probably solve almost all problems of scoop.... Ners/Floorslapper could dream of Dawson dominating and not see the actual game being played in 2018-19. It would be plenty warm.
It would be easy for me to take a nap since it is hard to find cold coffee...
But wait, it wouldn't solve the problem of how loud it is in the bowl and the problem with switching mikes on and off, etc... but this head gear would get us all really close to where we all want to be :)

Love this.
But seriously, a few years back we rec'd one as a gift from MU for our decades of donations.
I went to the Fiserv for the first time for Saturday's game and was overall impressed and was not cold. The sight lines from the seats in the lower rows of section 109 were very good. I thought the arena handled the decent crowd size well as the lines for the concessions and bathroom at halftime were reasonable near section 108-109. There was no cold air blowing, however, there was plenty of hot air coming from two d-bags (30-40 yoa) sitting behind me and my 7 year old child. The referees were brutal, but the constant standing and yelling (included with the occasional F-bomb and BS) after every bad and even some questionable calls or player mistakes, was just awful. Nobody wants to hear constant yelling in their ear or your basketball opinions- leave that for when your watching on your couch at home.
The only other complaint is that the lower seats in 109 (probably movable for concerts / shows) were not as sturdy as the uppers in that section: the seats were not as solid and the drink holder was too shallow as my kid's plastic soda bottle (3/4 full with no top as the servers remove them) fell over when the guy sitting next to us, sat down.

I have the same in 103. Those seats are movable for hockey and ice shows. Those seats are really flimsy and the low cupholders are a joke. The arm rests are rather weak as well. Also, the whole section shakes as people move around. Cheap construction.
Ha! Good stuff with Judge Smails. I actually don't mind those chants and encourage the students / adults to have their fun. But the constant yelling over and over was a bit much. (it didn't help the refs took forever at the replay monitors). As far as the pop goes, I was just pointing out a possible design flaw. As the guy that sat next us who knocked over the pop was 140 pounds soaking wet.
The concourses outside 107 sucked at halftime. I think there's going to some redesign over the summer, no way those corner bars last with the bottlenecking.

I was in 109 with my 12 yr old - kids (late 20's) behind us were full of robust language but 95% of it was because they were enthusiastic. Overall he thought the passion in the section was really cool from the older couple next to us (gentleman gave a really good running commentary on the aspects of the game and the lady absolutely refused to not call them Warriors), to the guy in front of us who yelled "and one" after every foul (even some of KState's that were offensive), to the kids behind us who were cursing but also very liberal with dealing out slaps-o-five.
Great arena and environment - not as loud as i expected - but super glad we made the trip.

Yeah, those "cupholders" are completely useless. They're about an inch deep!!!
I wonder what people think of the permanent seat cupholders? Those look deeper.
I'm down in Row 14, set 114, the cup holders in the armrest are pointless.
Permanent seat cup holders are fantastic. Also the cold air blowing has not been a problem the last couple games for me.
Regarding profanity... the way I see it, you can be enthusiastic without the non-family friendly words. I'd rather parents bring their kids to games so we can build the next generation of fans. However, if there are too many foul mouthed fans, more parents will feel reluctant to bring the kiddos.
There are two STH's near me that bring kids to the games. Both groups do an awesome job of explaining the game and getting the kids involved and interested. Fine parenting if you ask me!
I bring my kids to every game. I boo / cheer as required. And i definitely try to rally those around me to do the same. That is why i go. I dont understand why people go to games and then get upset when people around them are enthusiastic fans.
if you want an environment where there isn't booing/cheering/an occasional cuss - dont go to live sporting events - or go to UWM games. There are plenty of seats at their games where you wouldn't have risk of hearing a boo or a cuss.

The south sideline of the upper deck inexplicably had zero beer stands open on Saturday. Hopefully not the case for WI and big east games. Missed revenue opportunities as there wasn't enough time at halftime to walk halfway around the arena to wait in a long line at end zone bars.
I'm sorry I offended some people. It was not meant to be a "flex". I used to post here during undergrad, but I couldn't find my old handle. I just moved back to Milwaukee, and am looking reconnect to the community. :)

100% agree with this and there's been plenty to boo (if the athletes were pro) over the last 5-6 years. Now refs, different story.

IDK, when you're getting paid, I'd consider that fair game. I would have most certainly booed the Packers this past weekend. Now being vulgar or abusive, no, never.
Anyways, all you knuckleheads be nice to deltagurl.

I was taught and still try to follow "no booing", period. The one exception I have is when a player is dirty - eg, physical cheapshot.

And we encourage flexes early and often! Have you ever dunked on a Fisher Price hoop? If so, you're legally allowed to recommend firing Wojo.
Most of Scoop does not meet this criteria.
The cool air coming through the vents is so cool because it blew across Wojo's seat first.

Remember there is an open concourse and a lot of glass around the building. This will only get worse in the winter.
The Bradley Center did not have an open concourse nor so much glass if at all around the place...

Fiserv does NOT have an open concourse. I've been in many arenas that do, but Fiserv does not. There are some locations in the building that are open, but it's partial.

I think the complaint is about cold air being blown down on seats. So I don't know if that would have a huge impact.

I hope it is not too cold at Saturday's game. Luckily I will be sitting in a suite.
medeltaforcegurl, just a heads up that we sat in a suite for the UTEP game and it was freezing in the seating area. The interior of the suite was comfortable.
Our seats in the lower bowl were very cold during the first few games but the blowing of cold air has seemed to cease for recent games.
I was very warm during the Kansas State game. I thought the UTEP game it was fine. I will not be wearing a sweatshirt for today's game.

Really disappointed with the new arena. There are a lot of bells and whistles that are nice, but the basics seem to be lacking. Traffic flow is a problem in a lot of areas and the line to the men's room was ten minutes long at halftime. Doesn't seem to be a $500 million improvement over the BC.
Went to the FF for my second time last night, this time for a Bucks game. I still can't figure out what the complaining is about. The place is gorgeous. What they have done to that entire area is incredible considering what used to be there was an eyesore for the last 30 years.
I think people can rightfully debate the way these things are funded in this day and age, but complaining about the result? Yeah I'm not going to do that.
BTW, first Bucks game in about five years. They put on quite a show. Very entertaining.
It started as a good experience and has improved as they worked out the kinks. My only gripe at the moment is how the concourses are designed. The way some of the bars kick out & the tables that push into walking spaces slow traffic during busy parts (halftime most notably).
This might be most problematic by my seats, from 115-119, and it doesn't seem as clustered upstairs (200 level fans, please chime in). Also curious if it's as bad on the 104-108 side.
Upstairs concourse is great. Won't be moving downstairs for a long time after experiencing halftime in the lower bowl during the Kstate and UW games.

I agree. Thought Fiserv was awesome. My seats did not have any draft/cold air impact. Granted I only have been to the Wisconsin game and they may have improved the HVAC since the season opener.
I was blown away by the city views from the Panorama Club, and the overall feel of the entire arena.

The overhead fans above the corners have been turned off since before the Wisconsin game. Big difference. Was quite chilly in 103 before that.

Also looking for opinions on this. Upstairs this year, need to move back down, but that side with the two end bars is absolutely horrible.
More importantly, it looks like the problem of our lads' cold shooting at the Forum has been solved.
My parents' tickets are in 103 and you can go up/down the staircases and they open to a very, very wide part of the concourse (by the main entrance escalator). Have been to 4 games, 3 of them in those seats and have had no reason to walk anywhere other than between the seats and the staircase and it couldn't be any easier.
I sat in 114 for the Buffalo game and trying to get between those seats and my parents' seats at halftime was a hassle.

It's a double-edged sword with a bar on each end and restrooms on each end. If you're quick out of halftime, you can either get a beer or use the restroom easily, but trying to do both is tough, especially if you want to get any food in the process. I've definitely started doing most of that at the 4-minute timeouts.

My solution. No $11 beer means fewer bathroom breaks.
The problem for fans at all events is not finding the 3 corner stairways to leave Fiserv Forum. My wife and I leave out the southeast stairways to walk south on 4th street. You should see the faces of fans who leave out the main concourse out the east to just walk west when we come out of the doors. They are shocked, in where we came from!
As for the concourses. Both decks are the same size. Difference at halftime. The lower bowl has 10k going in the concourse. The upper deck seats less than 6k going in the same size upper deck concourse.
Fiserv Forum is an outstanding building! I love the scoreboard. Leg room is much better. I enjoy all the tv's. Food choices are also excellent. Bathrooms are nice.
I do not understand the cup holders. It's like they're playing a prank on you, trying to make you spill your drink. The size could hold a baby's little applesauce cup, but not any kind of drink. It's absolutely bizarre.
I was perplexed by the cupholder complaints until I realized that the cupholders we have in Section 116 are quite good and that other locations have ridiculous cupholders.
The temporary seats cup holders in the arm rest are bad. (Which I sit in section 114, row 14.) The permanent seats are much deeper for your cup.
The shelf in the urinal for your drink is an outstanding touch!

This. They are a bit hard to recognize. I wonder if the fire code prevents ushers from propping the doors open immediately after the game to encourage usage.

I agree they are hard to find. I learned area's on the website. Also, they do say "exit" above the doors. Other than popping the doors open, not sure what they could do. One idea I have is what the Bradley Center did. The exit sign said to what street that exit was for. UWM Panther Arena has the same signage to what street that exit is for.

Evidently it is still a problem. My son works at the FF, and he said its in their daily discussions.. The HVAC programmer never took into consideration of the intake air would be COLD in winter.... ::) He said he heard some well heeled MU STH has threatened to cancel his seats...

I think I would defer to those that have been to FF more than once, and reserve comment about those people, especially if I have been there.....what.....one time?
But some people think the world is waiting on their opinion and just can't do it.
My only complaint with FF is access to beer. During K State game, all beer vendors on the south sideline (205-211) were closed.
During buffalo game, I sat in West student section and ordered food at stand attached to drink wisconsinbly where all of the beer in cooler was locked up. I asked concessions worker about locked up beer. Response: "it don't get that busy for Marquette games". Damn lasry and edens.

It boggles my mind that they don't open that beer stand on the south side of the upper deck for even the big games. And then the Jack Daniels bar is usually closed as well so the southwest half of the upper deck has no alcohol.
