1. Theo
2. Sam
Sam Hauser
Honorable Mention- Theo John
Theo.
Theo. The beast.
Theo Beast Mode
Theo
Theo. Might be the easiest decision of the year.
Thick Theo
Sam - anyone who thinks he's down near 25 MPG is kidding themselves. We are a totally different (worse) team when he is off the floor
Number 4
Theo
Double double - plus 4-5 blocks?
Diminished foul frequency.
Theo.
Big theo
Markus.
Guy had an off night shooting. Yet, he still managed to lead scorers, drop an impressive stat line and found other ways to be very helpful to the team.
Mr. John
Theo.
It's gotta be Theo - good look all around.
Theo.
If Markus got the triple double maybe, but Theo, no discussion necessary.
Theo. Nice double double from him.
Theo
John
Theo John. Set the tone defensively, seemingly denied everything inside and grabbed every rebound. Not pretty on offense, but played aggressively and earned his points. By far the best game of his career so far.
Theo
Undoubtedly Markus. Flirted with a triple double and absolutely ran the game like a lead guard. Shooting was off but was on in every other way and made every other player on the floor better. Easy choice.

Yes, Theo was a man but Markus was the leader.
I'd have no problem with Theo, Markus or Sam.
Knowing that Markus and Sam will win a bunch of these makes my heart want to give it to Theo ... something that's easier for me to say because it wouldn't be charity at all.
Theo had a heck of a game.
Theo had as many offense rebounds tonight (5) as the entire UMBC team. Stud.
Thought the ball stuck too much with markus. He had an open guy a 5+ times and held the ball too long.
Not concerned about his shooting. Just wish he'd move the ball a little quicker. Too many times he took 4 stationary dribbles and passed to a guy who was no longer open. Maybe that decision making improves with time on the floor.
I'd go with Sam. Theo/Markus HM
Definitely Markus for floor leadership. Theo only had easy rebound/putback dunks.
Theo was the leading difference maker in this game.
Markus will have plenty of SOTGs but you can't tell me shooting 2-12 and 5-16 warrants that consideration. You've gotta know when to fold em and he didn't.

Buddy I was with said it felt like they were trying to pad his stats towards the end of the game. I wouldn't blame them if they were. Gotta have big numbers if he's to be considered for any of the end of season awards.
Mr. Theo John.
Theo, favorite item of the night was in the 2nd half when Theo got called for a questionable charge in the post and he responded by poppin' the guns.
Oh, sure, bring guns into the discussion. ::)
1. Markus had a great floor game. He's not going to shoot 50% or better for the year behind the arc, but he had 7 assists and only 2 TOs.
2. Theo was a beast.
Let's be thankful Sammy's ankle didn't turn out to be a bad injury, hey?

I wouldn't be opposed to Markus, but that shooting was poor.
Theo for sure.
Markus looks much improved in leading on the floor and handling the ball... but I thought he took a couple shots that didn't need to be taken and didn't get the ball to teammates at all the right times. These are small and nitpicky thoughts though, as more often than not he'll make many of those shots and his passing/handling game is so much improved.

Dammit. So many jokes that are no longer appropriate.
Theo. I can't give it to Markus with such a woeful shooting performance. That's his bread and butter.

Great photo. The spirit of Jae Crowder lives on.
I'm going for the fire dancer that lit himself on fire. Or Theo.

It was, but he was in control. You could see that from the jump. He was surveying the court better, getting inside to grab boards, and even his improved defense, he was simply the best guy out there.
Theo had a great night, and Sam was also good, but Markus was the most indispensable guy on the floor.

My vote: Theo
I'm excited by the prospect of that guy being completely opened up now to playing his style. Who cares now with so much depth.
Imagine going up against this guy? Very intimidating and he was going up against some super weak-looking guys. Setting a physical tone down there impacted the game significantly (UMBC, but still, a good sign).

The sudden frantic patting out his pants was great. Maybe it's just me, but what looked like paper fringe pants seemed like a poor choice.

Were you watching it as an amused fan or a detached firefighter who was glad somebody else got to extinguish it?
For all the fees we pay here you would expect SOTG would be up; between this and all the things wrong at Fi-Fo it's going to be a crap season (in Scoop form like it was midseason)

A bit of both. I knew all the EMS crew working the Forum last night so the only real wonder I had was if he'd extinguish himself before they had to do any real work.
Mister Theo John to you worthless and weak. The Crowder comparison had not occurred to me but it's spot on in certain aspects of his game. Truly a presence and 'fear factor' we haven't had since Jae left. I like it. A lot.

I agree with you. Perhaps in the future, we'll have a MIGOTFOTG award. But for the SOTG, my vote is for Theo.
Love the Theo picture in SOTG box . Looking forward to seeing more of that over the years.

If I'm an opponent, I'm not going to F with that guy!
Best SOTG pic ever
