Only Senior on the team.... suspended for the pre-season. Bad optics.

Seems like a lot of posts from Mr. Dodds site recently......is that cool with him (and the mods)? I honestly don't know.
I pop over to Mr. Dodds sight once in a while but find his annoying posters just annoying where Scoop's annoying posters have some quirky, or humorous, panache to them.

That's not really insightful, like, at all. I mean...obviously it's discipline. That would be like saying he's out with an injury, and when asked, the extra information is "he's out for medical reasons."
"What is the soup du jour?"
"It's the soup of the day."
"Mmmm, that sounds good. I'll have that."
I can't remember when Marquette released any specific information about a suspension. Doesn't seem unusual.

I think it is insightful because there are other alternatives than just discipline. For example it could be academic deficiency, such as missing classes or failing a test or a minor NCAA infraction.

Academic deficiency wasn't going to happen before they've even had midterms.
A minor NCAA infraction would be discipline.
Again, completely meaningless.

The next time a division 1 student athlete is suspended for failing a test will be the first.
A suspension for missing classes would be a disciplinary suspension.
If the NCAA is the one handing down the suspension I'm pretty doubtful they'd tell him he can't play in Madness, and I'm pretty sure they'd suspend him for regular season games, not a couple scrimmages and an exhibition.

MU takes attendance, so the academic infraction could occur before mid terms. Also there are other exams before the midterms in some classes and a violation of the honor code could have occurred.
I consider an NCAA infraction an NCAA infraction.
Discipine could mean being late for practice, getting a fight with a teammate, getting drunk and disorderly, treating women badly etc

Or it could be a minor NCAA infraction. Or it could be skipping classes. Or it could be a violation of the honor code. Or it could be another academic issue stemming back to summer classes. All of those fall under discipline. Sorry, but this is useless from Dodds. It could literally be anything that falls under the umbrella of things the staff would punish him for. Trying to defend it is just silly talk.
Well this thread peaked at Jack Sparrow.
Don't blame Dodd's.....he is just repeating what MU reported on twitter and on TV last night

No no no. You gotta throw the salt over your Right shoulder.
I was hoping for more wild speculation as to what he did.
He got drunk and threw a beer off a balcony. Didn't hit anyone or anything, besides the ground. Nothing serious. The suspension is just a slap on the hand. Enjoying the last few weeks before the season starts

We can't determine if the severity of the punishment is adequate to the crime until we know
what kind of beer it was.

Probably suspended because his accuracy was off. Win every day.

I sure hope it was an empty beer, otherwise that is a waste of perfectly good beer.

I can so picture Rowsey doing this. But kudos to Wojo for the suspension. By the time you're a 5th year senior, you should know better than to waste beer.

My son is a senior at the Kelley School at I-4. This weekend I visited him, opened his fridge and said, "I can't believe that college seniors would have no beer in their fridge!" He said, "yes we do Dad. It's on the bottom, see?." After noticing that the only items on the bottom shelf were cans of Keystone Light, I again said, "I can't believe that college seniors would have no beer in their fridge!"

Cool with him? Well, posters have been including links. So he can''t complain (plus, he's posting old news and public knowledge).
As for us, we welcome links to your sources, unlike Dodd's who will ban you for posting links to other sites.
Chit, ya get banned for sayin', "who the hell is Jim Ganzer?" Ai na?

The rock bottom we hit with beer was probably Red Dog. Keystone and Natty Lite were a regular staple.
Not a good start to the season. If we are going to win this year, we need him to hit the open shots from deep.

Wrong o...:
The "Fine Rhine" was the worst garbage ever brewed. Old Milwaukee was a close second.
Boxer was the cheapest at discount per oz. 36 for $11. It was god awful but I thought keystone was worse.
Back in the day my dad mentioned that something called Old Bullfrog was the only beer he simply couldn't stomach. And just for a sense of perspective, Blatz was his 'regular'. I convinced him when I was in college to movee up to High Life or PBR or the top shelf Genuine Draft when we had company over.

I stocked and delivered for Richie and Pauly (and the Old Man-they could have had a reality show like "Pawn Stars") at Marquette Liquors my senior year. Three days a week, I would deliver a few cans of soup, two packs of Virginia Slims and a six pack of Schaeffer Tall Boys to an old cat lady living in the Ardmore. And she'd always tip me at least .75 cents. I loved that job.

$3.89 for a case of returnable bottles (if you got your deposit back). Living.

When I was a young man, I loved me some Schaefer when in CT. It was PBR all the way in Milwaukee, or Chopper would have let me know about it (though I liked PBR, too. Used to be unlimited free beer in the hospitality house on the last tour on Friday for an hour or so. Started a few fun weekends on that tour.)

You admit that? Geez!
There was never a shortage of PBR when I was at MU. The brewery was six blocks away and 99% of the free beer on campus was Pabst. I think the brewery gave it away to encourage life-long loyalty.

Boxer was the best bang for your buck with the slightly higher ABV and 6 extra cans. However you paid the price the next morning on the commode...
rhinelander baby and if we wanted to splurge an extra $.50-1.00-leine's it was-that was when it was considered a chit beer but what did they know. we were the experts 8-)

Speaking of Chopper, did you ever hear the infamous "lead pipe" recording???
Boxer, Rhinelander and a many others still made by Minhas, including Kirkland, btw.

My buddies and I took the Miller tour several times a year because they'd give out 3 free samples: High Life, Lite and Lowenbrau Dark.
There's nothing better than a nice cold MGD, the original craft beer.
I had the immense displeasure of purchasing a 36 pack of lacrosse lager once. As it turns out, that is the bottled vomit of alcoholics. Buyer beware
At 535 N. 17th, we pooled our money to buy a couple of cases of beer each week. A case of Fox Deluxe for $2.69 per case, and a case of Rhinelander for $2.89. Usually drank RWB's at the Lanche.
Schaefer is the one beer to have when you're having more than one.
Schaefer pleasure doesn't fade even when your thirst is done.
The most rewarding flavor in this man's world is for people who are having fun.
