When do we expect conference schedule?
Any rumblings on a game time for UW Dec 10th?
The last two schedules came out September 8, 2015 and September 9, 2014. That's about a week after Labor Day, so probably either the end of next week or the week after. I'd guess September 12th or 13th at the latest.
I think the UW game has been an afternoon game every year since I was a freshman (07). I can't imagine that will be changing now. Probably noon or 1

It was a 8:30 PM game in 2008 and a 6:00 PM game in 2012. In 2010 and 2014 it was early afternoon.
EDIT: One more thing. The day of the UW game is Saturday, December 10. Nothing else is on the BC schedule for that day. College football conference championship games are on December 3. I can see this game as an early evening game on FS1.

FS1 usually does not have evening BE games on Saturdays though. We shall see.

Wouldn't shock me if this game was on Fox. Good chance UW will be a top-10 team, and we could be ranked if we come in to that week 6-2 or 7-1, especially if we can beat Georgia on the road. No NFL games that day either.

the dates prior to 2013 are irrelevant. The last 3 years (i.e., new BE) the schedule was released the week of Labor Day. suspect we'll see the schedule next week.

Before and after 2013, the Big East has been using NBA arenas in Milwaukee, New York, Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia. NHL arenas are being used in Newark, Philadelphia, New York, and Washington. They've been using AHL arenas in Chicago and Providence.
The schedule takes until into September because of those leagues getting priority in those buildings. That hasn't changed, nor will it be changing any time soon.

If it's Fox it would definitely be a day game. And Nukem good point about FS1. Probably got UFC scheduled for that evening.

UFC is running a PPV in Toronto that night, so there will (almost definitely) be prelims on FS1 from 7-9pm Central time.
If the game ends up on FOX it would be a day game. Villanova/Notre Dame is on CBS at 11am and the Army/Navy football game follows that on CBS. So, UW at MU will not be on CBS.
FS1 should have UFC that night.
It will be a solid day for FOX/FS1 that day on Dec. 10th as the Big East schedule is Wisconsin at Marquette, Cincinnati at Butler and Utah at Xavier. UMass at Providence and Longwood at Creighton is also on Dec. 10th. DePaul vs Temple & LaSalle vs Georgetown play in Miami for the HoopHall Invitational. I have not seen a boardcast network for that series, but it's smells like FS1.

I remember being told by Dr. Janners that the basketball schedule (and as a result, the band schedule) was delayed in 2010 due to this. In particular, that was the year LeBron jumped to Miami, so it forced them to re-work the NBA schedule to give the Heat more primetime games, when then delayed everything else.

I'm going to go out on a limb and predict a home and home with the other 9 teams spread out between the end of December and the first few days of March . Followed by a few days in NYC. Some will be afternoons, but most will be at night.

As a season ticket holder I certainly get excited for the conference schedule reveal. Anxious to see which dates and times the games are on to start planning for gamedays.
I look forward to the schedule for the away games. The gang and I try to get to one every year. Last year was Butler. Thinking Creighton or Xavier this year, but will depend on the schedule. Haven't yet ruled out Athens, GA. Luckily the masters ain't that weekend eh?

This exactly. Have tried to do at least 1 road trip since graduation.
2009 - Louisville
2010 - Cincinnati
2011 - Pitt & Notre Dame
2012 - Providence
2013 - St Johns (for the BEAST title)
2014 - Butler
2015 - Didn't Happen
2016 - Xavier
2017 will either be Georgia or a TBD Saturday game. I wish Georgia would announce the time of that damn game.

A couple buddies and I tried to do this after graduating but haven't really kept up, so the "road trip" usually becomes Depaul. It doesn't help that TAMU lives in Texas now and everyone keeps getting hitched to sports-indifferent women.

Very much in the same boat - off the top of my head since '96, not an every year thing, live 3 hours northwest of Milwaukee, so sometimes limited to only trip or trips to Mke in a given year
96 - Louisville (one of best friends a UL fan)
98 - Louisville
99 - Louisville
00 - Louisville
01 - CUSA tourney in Louisville
02 - Louisville
03 - CUSA tourney in Louisville
04 - Louisville
05 - CUSA tourney in Memphis
(buddy's kids born in '06 and '07)
08 - Louisville
10 - West Virginia
11 - Tourney at KC with Duke, Gonzaga and K St
13 - Louisville
15 - Ohio State
17 - NYC in November
Most of the years without an MU road trip were filled with a big UL road trip against someone like UK, or in more recent years since they joined the ACC, Carolina and Duke.

Same here and I look forward to it every year. My son is 4 now and I'm hoping to bring him to his first game this year if the schedule lines up right.
Too lazy to list the exact years but I have some painful memories. Off the top of my head:
Louisville (Jerry Smith buzzer beater)
Syracuse (lost in OT)
Notre Dame (lost in OT, my bachelor party)
Providence (bat game)
Ohio State (got crushed)
Iowa (got crushed)

We come from Erie for at least a game or two every year. Most painful was the loss to Louisville about six-seven years ago when after a 9-hour ride we saw Jerry Freaking Smith drain a 3-pointer at the buzzer after we led by six by 3 minutes to go. We have been to Pitt (bad loss), West Virginia (closer loss), Villanova (win), Georgetown (win), Providence (loss) and several trips to NYC for St. John's games.

I respectfully disagree, it is probably still about the money. ND thinks they are a big draw and bully opponents into giving them big bucks for the "privilege" of playing them.
They are not our aspirational or our peer university, they are simply our competition on many fronts. I don't know what is going on today, but in the past MU did not respond well to velvet gloved extortion.
Perhaps that is too strong, oh well, time to dial it back.

Thanks We R. Helps that have lots of friends in Kentucky and sister lives in Ohio, so free lodging for a lot of these trips. That road trip to Louisville from Western Wisconsin not as bad as used to seem, goes by pretty fast now, except for the year a couple years back after a UL - NC game where got stuck in a blizzard in Central Illinois and had to listen to the Super Bowl in buddy's car because power went out at hotel, then had to sleep in the lobby at the hotel because they were out of rooms.

I don't like it. Most working people that go to games will be on their 9-5 that day. Butler will likely be hit harder than most; I imagine urban universities would fare better at drawing on MLK Day than a more suburban area like Butler. Attendance numbers will be interesting...though may be worth a road trip.

Butler is in the equivalent of UWM's neighborhood.

Yep. That was a quick decision.

Hadn't looked at the site yet. Glad I didn't put any money down. Should be a fun atmosphere with a good opponent on a Saturday night.

In all fairness, the gomarquette site wasn't up yet when you made your guess.

That day will be a doubleheader. Real Chili for lunch and Real Chili for bar closing. I better start working out now.
I know what I'm doing on New Year's Day in the afternoon.
Well, no rest for the weary. 6 out of first 9 games are against teams in last year's NCAA.
Two Saturday night home games.

Lookin', lookin', lookin'...... about to call panther out...... Bingo! that Houston Baptist barnburner!
Houston Baptist still counts! ;D MU, non-conference or conference never has Saturday night home games untill finally last season there was one in a long while. This year two!
Only ONE 8pm weeknight game at the Bradley Center. In 2014-15, Marquette had zero 7pm games. Heck, almost all were at 8pm. That is a huge change as many hated the 8:15 tip times.
A move in the right direction, for sure. Those 8:00 o'clock games are too late for us out of town old timers.

All good brother! Took me forever to find it. LOVE those 7p starts. Chick doesn't have to bust out of downtown CHI on the train too horribly early AND we get home in time to get a decent night's sleep. Trust me, driving home nearly two hours in the wee hours after a Wednesday night late game loss absolutely blows chunks.
I think that's awesome we can get so many Chicagoland Marquette fans coming to the games.
I guess I shouldn't say my drive home is over the Hoan Bridge. :D

Tues 1/24 Nova Home
Pretty important to beat the Hoyas in Game 1.
3 very tough games after that. And then, after DePaul at home, 3 more that won't be easy at all.
If we can come out of these first 8 at 4-4, I like our chances of having a pretty nice conference season.

Noticed the same thing. I've got us going 2-6 in that stretch. Very front-loaded conference schedule.

Going to be challenging. I had mentioned earlier in this thread that this represents 6 tourney teams out of 8 games. Buckle up.

That is make or break tight there. All much taller teams versus Midgets II. MU better come out firing and hitting. I think DePaul is even improved. No easy games in the BEAST.
