It's a GREAT day to be a WARRIOR!!!!!!
Here's to playin' ball in NYC on Friday.
GO WARRIORS!!!!!
Derrick for SOTG...based on assists. It's how we win today.
We've earned the sports book Big Screen in Vegas. Never mind that nothing else is on. +14 as we approach tip. No worries. House money.
New Orleans Warriors checking in and rooting for a big win!
Let's double up baby, go MU!

How long until our boys run out of gas?
11 minutes left in the second half.
Play the best game of your lives!
Nova is just too good.
Sucks that we are in a nice rythmn and draw them. We could beat Gtown.
Hopefully we just keep it watchable!!!
Holy god
Literally nothing you can do about these shots unless you want to take their legs out.
with the way nova is shooting and the way we are playing defense this could get ugly.
While they have flaws...this is why Nova is dangerous.
They are so damn efficient. If by chance they are making 3s(of course today they are) then run and hide.
Hope they play like this in tourney. BE needs to rep good!!
Not playing poorly at all so far. Getting good shots on offense and Nova is just hitting from NBA range. What can you do
Those deep 3's....nothing MU can do to stop those
They're not gonna hit half court shots all game. Just need to get stops.
4 of 5 from New Jersey ! Ouch
God, I never saw Jajuan's shot from that angle. It's even uglier than I thought. If he is ever to contribute significantly that shot needs a TON of work.
Tough to play a team that shoots threes!
Shooting all the way from Philly
Oh Derrick, that's two giveaways
Love the board by derrick but he's gotta kick it back out.
He had a better chance of scoring on the other hoop
Oops - almost hate to see Teve hit the three - more attempts will follow.
What a pass by JJJ!!!
Boom, what an answer. Bench contributions!
Let's fuckkking gooooo
I'm a believer
I love JJJ's stroke in catch and shoot situations but when he has some tie to bring the ball down he has this hitch at the bottom of his motion around his waist and he misses.
Carlino has one shot, Derrick has 6. But it's working after some ugly turnovers. JJJ good so far.
I love our hearts. Whatever happens today.
Another 3 and then TO. Damn.
Gonna need a carlino heater soon
Ouch. That's three bad pass turnovers by Derrick. Keep it close boys.
on a day when we need derrick to be efficient he has 3 turnovers already...
would villanova please start missing some of these 3's? good God

Probably need it to be someone else. Like how Duane took over against Tennessee when everyone was focused on Carlino because of the Georgia Tech destruction.

not a recipe for long term success in this one. derrick has to play in control like last night. trying to do too much. too many shots by him and 3 turnovers
Love our hearts too. We just have to fight the whole game and get Carlino threes.
Nova is seriously jumping the passing lanes. MU, particularly Derrick, needs to adjust. I cannot remember seeing a 2-3 zone extended as far as MU is right now.
They gotta defend the Villanova 3 ball besides that its a good game.
Close hard force em into tough 2 balls. The rims in MSG are real friendly, seems like everyone can hit a 3 in the garden. Except The Knicks.
Villanova watched film from last night Carlinos not gonna be able to roll off screens for "Seton Hall Game" 3 pointers....
Wow raining 3's
Nova up 29-16. Shooting NINETY PERCENT eFG. 90.0%.
just bad defense, leaving hart wide open. this game shows why people get so frustrated with derrick. carlino really needs to get hot here
Quote from: DUNKS45 on March 12, 2015, 11:34:41 AM
Wow raining 3's
Their hitting backyard shots now.....
Of course Nova will miss all of these in the NCAA tournament and exit early again..save them for later ;D
Another made three and I may hurl.
Every time Matt comes off a screen the second defender is completely leaving his guy for a second to cover him up. Wish we could exploit that.
Can't do much about the threes. Ouch.
How can we stop the rain???
Burr had the OOB call wrong, got overruled.
Too sloppy.

Very smart on Jay Wright. The defender totally bails his man to defend Carlino. Wojo should have Duane or JJJ rolling to the rim the best slasher off that double team.
Juan has butter fingers around the rim.
Just too many idiot turnovers which were non existent last night. Resulting in points almost each trip down.
And another one as I type. Not good. And another one by Juan oh boy.
Juan is bad.
More teve and Luke please
Wow, MU is leaving guys wide open.
Really bad showing.
Don't care how bad the talent is (and it's debatable how bad it is) but better defense could be taught by a better coach.
Derrick is playing the complete opposite of yesterday
17-0 run... Sheesh
Bring in Chief Cohen, JJJ, Duane, Teve and Luke...
Time to burn the gameplan you need scoring and Carlino had been taken out of this game by Jay Wright.
well looks like its over...disappointing. the talent differene between the 2 teams is alarming. need to stay on the 3 point shooters. villanova can't miss, carlino can't hit a shot
last night i had no problem with jajuan and sandy not playing much, because juan and derrick were playing well. today both juan and derrick has been awful. lets see something from jajuan and sandy.
Well, we needed the opposite to happen and it didn't. They're on fire and we're not. If it doesn't turn around in the second half, we're done.
Ok. Now's the time to play attack!
MU looks like they played a lot of minutes last night. Villanova doing to MU what MU did to SHU. There is a reason why Nova is a #1 seed and MU is under .500.
Scoring droughts just kill us against a solid team.
Much less dominate team like Nova
Carlino 1 on 4 fast break....
Carlino one on four, turnover of course
Just turned it on and MU snapped a 17-0 run. You're welcome.
Need to feed Luke some more. Work inside out a little and maybe free up the outside? I really have no idea what will work at this point.

Maybe this is what you get when a bad team plays a really good one. Marquette is not a good basketball team, we have a whole season of evidence to back that up.

We played Nova well last time, but they are ranked #4 for a reason.
Just play hard in the second half and leave it all on the court.
Jay Wright is daring us to make a simple pass to a wide open post player.
just an awful showing. 12 turnovers not the way you win this game. derrick wilson has been just TERRIBLE

I don't mind if we go out against a top 5 team, but just not like this. C'mon man!
rough first half, enough to drive a man to drink.
I haven't seen Fischer touch the ball much, May need to get the ball into the post to see if Nova will bring the double team. Maybe it will open up a shooter.

a lot of his assists were simple passes to open 3 point shooters. derrick isn't a creator, but usually he takes care of the ball. tonight he hasn't and when that happens he is a major detriment to his team. honestly the pg play at marquette has no where to go but up next year. when derrick is the best you got at that position, you know you've hit rock bottom

Yes, this is painful, but did anyone expect anything else? We're playing the #4 team in the country on 15 hours rest. Last night was great. That was our One Shining Moment. As fun as another win would be, this team would beat us 9/10 if we were rested. This was always a massive uphill pipe dream.

Yes, but sort of expected. The 12 TOs just brutal. No one beats Nova when they hit 10 threes in a half.
C'mon, is any of this a shock? MU is playing with house money. Few picked them to win last night. You have a tired team with practically no bench playing a rested, elite team that's looking at a #1 seed in the tourney.
The season ends today. Which is fine, because we can start thinking about next year.

Jay Wright: "they were playing zone and giving us the threes". Yup.........hello......
Derrick/Carlino = 6 turnovers
Carlino = zero points
Fisher has taken two shots
Passes into the post are brutal, Traci Carter you watching........
Least the fellas got a BE Tourney win last night, but just not in same league as Nova today.
Something bothers me when trolls come out. You losers need lives. I'm continuing to support our guys and hope they have the energy for a solid 2nd half. My hope is that Wojo isn't hollering in the locker room but is instead inspiring the guys to play 20 minutes with pride.

Sure you can! You lose the zone and play tight man. Why are we playing zone against a team that rains threes? You reap what you sow. Wojo is a great recruiter, but has a ton, a ton, to learn as a coach. Especially adjustments. Last night we had a 25 point lead with 5 minutes left, and Derrick and Carlino played every minute. Wojo did not sub them until about a minute left. A noon game today and both Derrick and Carlino are beat. Carlino 0-5 and Derrick with 5 TO's at the half. Villanova is a very good team, but Wojo has much to learn about game coaching.

To be fair, Nova is playing some of the most physical defense I've seen. They play D like this in the tournament, and the non BE refs will call a lot of fouls.
The inability to draw fouls this season is perplexing.
This team must have one of the lowest FTA season totals in recent memory.
Putting the opposing players in foul trouble is just one more factor MU could have implemented in the first half.
Too much O spent in the first BE tourney game...

Some people don't like to admit that coaching does matter.
MU would have been better off playing man and letting the guy drive in for a layup once it became obvious they were going to be hot from three point land. Instead, Wojo lets MU get it's brains beat in with that awful zone.
Will Wojo ditch the zone next year?

Um. When I was speaking about trolls I was referring to you. Live with that dude.
One interesting thing is that when they show Wojo in the huddle during a time out, he's always talking about playing tougher but he's never giving specific things to do to help the situation.
His biggest weakness seems to be not being able to make in-game adjustments.

When television is allowed in the huddle, they are only allowed to use footage such as this. They are not allowed to use parts where strategy is a part of the discussion.
I mean, timeouts are three minutes long? They only show 10-15 seconds at most.

You know those aren't live shots, right? They don't broadcast what inbounds play a team is going to run or what specific adjustments they're going to make. If that was the case, coaches would hire an assistant whose sole responsibility was keeping the camera far, far away from the huddle. They show a 10-second clip of encouragement.

I think McGrath wins by a good margin, but there is a little bit of Giada in Katie Nolan, in that they both really know how to dress for the camera.

+1
It's all Nova and Molly.
Good news is....this will be us in two years.
predictable end to one of the worst, if not the worst, seasons in marquette history. the staff needs to field a more competitive team next year

that's my boy
You know its bad when Derrick is leading the team in scoring...dare I say he could get a triple double (if you count turn-overs)

I lived through the Dukiet Darkness. This is nowhere near that.

Apparently you must have missed the 100s of threads about our incoming recruiting class. The staff is doing a fine job of stocking a bare cupboard.

Could be close. 9 turnovers now.....
10 now...
Marquette was playing with house money after last night anyway.

A few more boards could put him in contention for a quadruple-double.
Wouldn't it be fitting if Derrick's MU career ended with him getting a legit triple-double (pts-reb-ast) in one of the worst games he's ever played? Something for everyone!
Derrick had 11 points, 9 assists, 6 rebounds and 9 turnovers.
Mac attack!
Good to see the Twin score.
You know you're a true fan when you watched that one until the end and saw one of the Mache twins score.
Your second leading scorer does not see the floor the last 15 minutes of the game??? Something wrong in Denmark, Wojo, or is that your brilliance shining through?
Duane did not have a good game and I suspect that he was hurting from crashing into the scoreboard last night.
I'm disappointed to lose, but look forward to cheering for Villanova from here on out. They are an excellent team and very fun to watch.

class looks good on paper but I'm not getting too excited until I see them play. The class of Duane, Jajuan, Deonte, John, and Jameel looked really god on paper too.....
We definitely need to improve on defense, no matter if it's the players or coaching instruction.
