No longer has "Marquette recruit" on his twitter. Bummer
That's unfortunate.
So what?
Not too bad actually. Dawson and duane are the future anyway. Pgs are dime a dozen
Peace out if he goes elsewhere. Let's get a coach in here to find these kid's replacements. Hill being let out would hurt thought I can't lie
He's smart to keep his options open. He, like all of us, is waiting to see what happens.
FWIW, Hill still lists Marquette on his twitter.
Whoever the new coach turns out to be needs the opportunity to recruit his own type of player. Just 'cuz Curly liked the kid, doesn't mean Howland et al would too.
Next week when Howland is in his house, and Russell Westbrook texts Nick to tell him Ben is a great coach, he'll come around.

Worth the paper it's written on.

It's possible the new coach is already letting kids know they're not in his plans. A bit far fetched maybe but not impossible. Especially as quickly as Cohen was released

4ever
You are a wise man. Let the dust settle and see who new guy wants as assistants and players. Why would anyone want to be forced to come or go without knowing all the facts. Losing recruits means little in big picture. Getting Stone means a lot.
I know

Especially since Cohen wasn't released.
Curly's judgment on talent was hit or miss. Larry or Moe might think differently for their style of play.
Nobody has been released yet. Everyone is still committed. Looks like it may be a matter of time with Cohen, though.
4ever, I don't know what point you're trying to prove on the recruits, but maybe its time you tone it down a notch.
Man, it's like a cult. How do these kids not see Buzz for who he is?
Nick come on! This dude's BEEN false-flaggin for years! Put the kool-aid down son. "Unkie Buzz" really doesn't care about you.

I think the point is pretty simple... The current recruits are not an important factor in this situation.

Except if it's Howland he doesn't have any recruits of his own to bring, so keeping our current recruits is important.
Just assume all the 2014 recruits are gone.
They were sold on Buzz not MU...that's 21st century recruiting.
Besides, only recruit worth tying up and the publicity fallout is Hill.

Hopefully, Howland's record both on the court and in landing players in the NBA, gives Marquette the best chance of retaining current recruits.

Keeping all/most of the recruiting class would be a nice bonus, but the program won't collapse if it doesn't happen.
The focus is finding the right coach for the next 8-10 years. In the grand scheme, one recruiting class isn't that important.
Worst case scenario, the next coach will have a lot of scholies and PT to offer to the Class of 2015.

"So Coach Williams, my AAU team runs a three-quarters press and I think it can be effective. I noticed that your teams, when in the half-cou--"
"So there I was. Just me and my will. My back was against the wall.--"
"When you played?"
"Shabazz, I am always playing. In life, we never check out. You can't sit at the scorer's table waiting for the right moment. Do you think you can strive toward effort and build strong relationships by checking out of the game?!?!?"
[approximately 90 seconds of silence as Buzz makes strange gestures and puts his head down]
[shakes head and looks up slowly] "You know, I have four assistants now, but lemme tell you. When I was dusting the corners of the ceiling in ol granpaw's house, he asked me what I was doing. He said, Brint, why you cleanin them dag-on parts? I told him that life struggles are meant to bring about challenges that only faith and determination can assure prevailance against the odds. You see what I'm sayin? I was reachin for them corners and granpaw was reachin, too--he was reachin out to me. He was teaching me a life lesson. He was teachin me, or rather life...life was showing me that I couldn't quit. Folks in the media always say quitters never win and winners never quit. Well granpaw showed me that, in life, losing is better than bein a quitter so long as I was reachin for the top. You see? Just as I was reachin for them corners."
"Dang, Coach. That's deep."
Fred Hoiberg has been sticking his nose into Wisconsin recruits. SANDY COHEN--IOWA STATE OR VIRGINIA
Henry Ellenson could follow to Iowa State. He isn't to keen on Wisco.

All coaches, both employed and unemployed have players to bring. These guys are always recruiting, always calling their bird-dogs, always scheming. Trust me, Howland probably has a plan for 5 different jobs right now.
Another player to take a serious look at is JORDAN PEREZ of Greendale, Wis. Very Talented.

Totally agree. He's at Washington under Lorenzo Romar. This would be a great move IMO. He's a Wisconsin guy who did all of the heavy lifting for Hoiberg and is the reason ISU became a landing place for WI kids. I know everybody likes Howland, but how about a Virginia loss tonight and we throw buckets of dough at Tony Bennett and have Otzelberger as associate head coach. Dude can recruit. And in keeping with this subject line, Otzelberger has loved Noskowiak since 8th grade and graded him as a better prospect than Koenig (who is going to be a great college player IMO). Noskowiak is the real deal.

Whoa. I'm no recruiting guy by any means, but isn't he ranked like 50th overall or something?
He is sitting tight anyway. Per Hunt
The assistant coaches who were left behind have told all four to sit tight until the new coach arrives.http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/251781261.html
Anybody have any clue which of the four have been "left behind?"

I'm pretty sure Autry is still here, although he's been with Buzz for a while so who knows if he'll leave. I think Wainwright is still around too. No idea about the others.
