Virginia Tech freshman 7-footer Trevor Thompson will transfer from the program, his father, Ryan, told ESPN. Look for HM's to get involved.

par for Buzz's course.
From Indy, but also did a year at St. John's military in Delafield, so it sounds like he probably really is running from Buzz.
5.0 ppg, 4.7 rpg in 16 mpg as a freshman, not bad at all. Probably saw the trajectory, or lack thereof, with so many of our players and wanted to go where he will actually develop.

Doesn't look like MU was involved the first time, even though he was playing 20 miles away. Safe to say one or the other was probably not interested.

Maybe Howland can sign him to Harris' spot :)

If he was playing at Va Tech, more than likely he just isn't that good.
it's a small world after all-interesting read about trevor thompson from northwestern military academy-had a decent freshman year at vt, buzz called him soft when recruiting him in h.s. so he goes to vt and guess who's coming to coach suddenly? buzz calls him out in front of all the players-not real cool, but it's his team

This is also an interesting take on the initial reign of Buzz at VT:

Interesting article, although it is hard to read. The writer (using the word very broadly) is all over the board in his/her reasoning, sentence structure, and facts in support of comments.
In fact, I was ready to click-out, when I came across this phrase in the last paragraph:
[Judge Buss
sic Brent on his wins] "and not on his impish demeanour or child-like antics and tantrums during games or his abrasive personality." (As noted, the author is not in line to win any grammar contests.)
"Abrasive personality" ??!! ... seems the ol' down home Texas approach might not be working in Blackswamp.
Also seems the local SB Nation is quicker in figuring out Brett than Northern folks, and more honest about winning being the only thing that counts.
Jeez, let's face it, those GD cell phones can piss you off.
Hard to read or not well written would be major understatements on that rambling montage of words.

Yup. Once a downhome lonesome cowboy, always a downhome lonesome cowboy. That shtick worked for about 5 years at MU, so it should work even longer on the "less sophisticated" coal country hillbillies.

Crazy thing is according to the article it didn't even ring, but was on vibrate (Buzzed).

I think we need to take ideas for the design of this moniker immediately. You cannot waste an opportunity for humor.
"But, when it comes to Trevor's talent, I did see enough of him to get a feel for him, both as a high schooler and prep player and through the first two months of this season. Additionally, when eight NCAA Tournament teams have expressed interest in him, including powers such as Kentucky, Kansas, Ohio State, Arizona and Florida, I think it is safe to say he's a commodity worth having and that it's not just our opinion."
No wonder some VT fans are miffed by Buzz's decision to release him.

Makes you wonder why when he was in our backyard he didn't go after him.....maybe Buzz was feeling good about the point guard position and said why bother.

Troubling indeed. Or was it one of Buzz's ways of seeing if the kid will harden and get tougher?
Or maybe he was trying to mislead a recruiter there?
Who knows...
Buzz wanted him to go to a junior college, so he could get him later
I'm just curious where all of these "tough kids" are going to come from.
