Can't wait.
Awesome mixtape. Could be one of MU's best PGs when all is said and done.
I dont know how often they re-rank the class but if they re-rank 2013 before next season I can see him jumping up even more in them. Made a pretty considerable jump this past year as well.
Whats also nice is that he seems really comfortable going left. Almost all of his one handed dunks were with his left hand. Kinda like what DJO did (except reversed)

Motivator.
Hand over the keys. We have big time PG coming to MU.
it moved. Now we just need Stone.
What did he shoot? 55% from downtown this year? I haven't been this excited for a recruit in a while... And it's not like he has a small sampling size for his 3 percentage...The kid can just score!

Yep. 55%. Jumper is PURE.
Take a look at Trey Burkes senior video below...I think Duane looks better than him at the same point in their careers. Granted the competition Burke faced was probably much harder than Dominican however, I his athletic ability looks better IMO.
Burkes senior year highlights.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CX_DASxVSxs
I think this team still has a good chance to be silly good. JuJuan and Duane are the real deal. Jamil, Devante, Stevie T, Otule and even McKay up front. Big chance for Todd to prove he still has the promise he showed at times in his freshman year in the back court with the freshman. That doesn't even mention Burton or Dawson.
Very, very excited about the incoming class. Obviously still disappointed about Vander, but the opportunities are there, and thankfully, I think we'll have the guys.
Those Wilson to Stone assists are just too beautiful not to be continued for another couple of years.

He's got unbelievable balance. He's always squared up when he shoots. Off a pass, off a screen, off the dribble, his release his consistent.
That kid has incredible talent and the work ethic to perfect his craft. He is gonna be special.
Don't want to be Debbie downer because Wilson and JJJ look very good. But, someone just posted numbers about freshman and rankings. Kids out of the top 30 rarely make a large impact their first year. Dom James would be in the minority.
Either way, he's going to be a good one at some point.

Precisely. Always square, always in balance, always in rhythm, with an effortless, textbook, metronome release. Houston, we have a shooter. Nice bonus is he's also explosive as hell. Shall I go on?

James, McNeal, and Wes were all productive their first year. Hopefully Buzz can get our guys ready to go next year like Crean was able to.

He played against poor competition most of the time, his D will need improving, Derrick will see lots of time on the D end. Either you know how to score or you do not, his ability to score
from all areas of the court is outstanding, I see no reason why he could not average double figures next year, he is better than Dominic.
Until I saw his "J", I was wondering if he was a lefty. Now I'm wondering if he's ambedexterous....
Me likey!

Those three guys played 85 minutes a game between them as freshmen.Cupboard was close to bare at their positions. That won't happen under Buzz.

His defense is actually very good from what I hear.
God damn that is a smooth smooth stroke. (Pardon my language).
I just wish they would stop focusing on the dunks and show more of the shooting. It's just unreal.
No wonder we've had guys jumping off the team. There's serious talent coming on board this year. Can't wait to watch Duane run the show!!!
His athleticism is silly. Regardless of the competition, his hops are off the charts, his ability to score in traffic is really, really impressive, and he hits contested jumpers. I can't believe he shot 55% from beyond the arc--that's stupid. This kid is going to be something.
Trey Burke barely broke the top 100 2 years ago. Last year Dominic Artis for Oregon was ranked 55 by Scout. Archidiacno for Nova 60....Jordan Adams UCLA 74. Stauskas for Michigan 86 Obekpa for St Johns 64 Smith-Rivera for Georgetown was 41 Cauley for Kentucky 48 just to name a few.....it happens every year.

Read it, saw it, thought it was great. I think a good expectation level for Duane's freshman year is RSCI #40 Travis Diener's freshman year. 24 mpg, 8 ppg, 2 apg, 40%+ 3P%, playing point as well as off the ball at 2. I don't necessarily think he'll put up the crazy high 132 ORTG that Diener did, only because his TO rate is likely to be higher than Diener's ultra-low 13% TO rate. However, I could easily see him posting an ORTG well north of 100, like DJames at 106 his frosh year.
Here's my scenario analysis for Duane:
20% probability
He possesses the best of both Diener and James' worlds, the elite athleticism of DJames, the shooting prowess of Diener, and the healthy cockiness of both. He accentuates the positives and wins Big East ROY.
28-30 mpg

43% from 3
75% from FT
3.5 apg
3 rpg
1 spg
2 topg
117 ORtg
69.5% probability
He brings much needed shooting and energy off the bench, and becomes the Davante to Derrick's CO2, being subbed offense for defense and generally splitting minutes down the middle. However, he is too turnover prone, a bit erratic with shot selection, and slightly lost on defense, capping his minutes. Still, an excellent rookie season.

He basically mirrors Junior Cadougan's real first year, struggling to take the true reins of the offense. It takes a while to adjust to major D1 ball, and the shots/drives he was used to making with ease are now defended well. He turns it over more than he assists, and gets beat on D too much to stay on the court for extended periods of time. However, he shows flashes of brilliance in crucial moments, like the WVU Big East tournament game.

He is buried on the bench behind Derrick, Dawson, Todd, Jajuan, and Jake. He sees some action in the non-con, but is way too erratic and shot-happy while getting abused on D like a rented mule. He gets Ferguson-type minutes during conference play then transfers to UWGB next spring.
WAY TOO LONG OF A STORY SHORT: I expect scenario 2 to play out, with the big leap taking place his sophomore year. He brings a lot to the table that successful freshman PGs DJames and Diener did, but also seems a bit TO prone and slight of stature for the instant stardom. However, I would not be shocked to see him address some of these known weaknesses this offseason to win Big East ROY, nor would I be shocked to see him replicate Cadoogie Howser's up and down initial full season. I WOULD be shocked to see scenario 4 play out, and mostly just put it there as a joke. I'm fine with any of scenarios 1, 2, or 3 playing out as laid out above. I just think he'll produce more than the average player at his recruiting rank, but I could definitely be wrong. Exciting times ahead.
Such an amazing player.
Why isn't this guy ranked any higher? Unreal jumper with elite athleticism and size for his position. Are the ranking gurus clowning on his competition that badly? Put Vander alone in the gym and he doesn't hit 55% and he's a 2nd round pick.
A bold prediction. If he stays all 4 years he will be Marquette's all time leading scorer.

Had he committed to Kentucky he would have jumped up in the rankings.

Probably some truth to that.
Duane is going to be a stud
Already love this guy before he sets foot on campus. Color me a huge Duane fan.
Think he'll rock the head band at MU? I like that look - thought it looked awesome on Lazar.
Diener had Cordell Henry playing in front of him...A senior who was a proven producer..Think his frosh stats might have been higher if he only had Derrick Wilson to compete with?

Absolutely no comparison between Henry and De. Wilson. Cordell was a stud. Derrick is a good guy, but likely only a role player.

I've never seen such a jacked up form on a perimeter shot. Might want to fix that.
I love his passing. He's also the opposite of DJO is that he's right handed but loves dunking lefty.
