Tell it like is! We suck!
Does a number guru have the amounts of wins v losses on Espn networks the past 5 years?
This thread is 45 minutes late!
Where's MU Avenue???
Where is our inner defense. Still need big players to play to potential or don't they have any.
I'm so glad you started this...just so MU Ave can't

Its national TV, we can't win whoever we play against.
The difference between us and Louisville is big. Not surprising this year. We have overachieved so far and had a soft conference schedule. A few boos here in New Orleans by at the ESPN studio as the game has been on....fans wanting something else because this is such a spank job.
Off to the SB, going to assume down 23 we aren't coming back with 12 minutes to go. Go Warriors...get them next time.

UL has had a really poor stretch coming into this game, making our chances that much slimmer IMO. I would have rather them still be a top 5 team cruising along coming into this game, rather then them having a chip on their shoulder.

See if you can't find Ray Lewis for some deer antler spray. That's what our boys need to compete with teams like UL.
playing superior talent on the road with poor effort level...should be down by more.
Their aggressiveness has taken us out of our offense
Too much talent and way too much quickness. UL is a national title contender when they play like this.

Be happy tOSU game got slipperied out.
Look I think this year is a question of coaching.
Buzz has gotten a lot more out of our team than most of us imagined. We played hard and tend to win at home and lose on the road. Guess what, we lost on the road. Buzz had us ready but we looked flat and that's the guys, not Buzz.
I'm disappointed because I thought we had a chance. But based on what Jay Bilas said, Rick Pitino did a great job of getting them ready for this game. Give ole Mark Twain credit -- they were ready for us.
We'll get 'em next time. Hurry home guys, we win here!!!

No point guard play except turnovers, DWill is really not a Big East point, can not score, thats the first problem, then go to the power forward, this is Jamil Wilsons 4th year, is he really that
soft, horrible today, Juan hustles but that is it. When you take Devante out, there in trouble, the outside players do not pass to Otule, than is to bad, he had position many times in the
game. Good job, has he improved or what? Lockett played well to, the balance, better look in the mirror.

We got embarrassed in Green Bay on a game that wasn't on TV. Did that make you feel better?
We beat Miss State, USC, LSU, UConn, Pitt and USF on national TV. Why didn't you use all caps and 20-point "JAPAN BOMBS PEARL HARBOR" font size on those?
In the NCAAs last year, we beat Murray State on national TV and lost to Florida on national TV. Was the win because it was on national TV and did we lose because it was on national TV?
If we go to the national championship game and lose by one point in five OTs, will we have lost because it was on national TV?

So what constitues National TV according to this board
If we lose a game by more than 20 points; regardless if it was on ESPN or Fox Sports Central Bolivia 2 it is national TV
If Marquette loses to a good team on the road and gives a valiant effort the game was not on National TV
If Marquette wins a game regardless if it is CBS or the Sunshine Network was never on national tv
...

As a sarcastic wise-a$$ myself, I am embarrassed if I missed the sarcasm. Wouldn't be the first time something's gone over my bald head.
Still, all the points I tried to make are valid for those who actually do think that the mere act of being on national TV has anything to do with wins and losses.
Must be pretty good on national television to get to the Sweet 16 in the past two seasons.
Bad game, but just one game.
I can easily forget if Marquette wins next two games. Avoiding the 'what the hell happened' conference loss like Georgetown at South Florida and Villanova hosting Providence is the reason Marquette is at the top of the conf. standings.
Good point Garbier. This game was not on anybody's 'win' list. We lost, nobody got hurt, on to Tampa.

The entire probelm with threads like this is that once upon a time someone posted something to the effect of "We always lay an egg on national television" instead of "We lay a lot of eggs on national television".
The threads become silly because some people miss (or intentionally ignore) the hyperbole of the comment, and attempt to lock the discussion into the silliness of the improper use of the term "always" or nitpciking over what network constitutes "nationally" televised. The purpose is to lock out any discussion of the underlying truth.
Unfortunately, its that truth to the original comment (e.g. Florida, Green Bay, Louisville) that cause some people read PTM's attempt at satire and take it seriously.
I don't think a single person here would argue that we've been embarassed by our performance in
every nationally televised game over the past few years. At the same time, nobody can deny that we
have been embarassed a number of times over the past two or three years.
