We have a good chance of sneaking in with a 23 to 25 ranking. If so ....

Looking at the AP and teams ahead of us...
#12 Illinois lost twice (Minnesota, @ Wisconsin)
#17 Notre Dame lost once (UConn)
#19 Georgetown lost once (Pitt badly)
#21 Cincinnati lost once (Notre Dame)
#24 UNLV lost once (@ New Mexico)
#27 Wyoming lost once (Boise State)
#28 Oklahoma State lost once (@ Oklahoma)
Based on that and a pretty impressive win on the road and I think we should sneak in. Here's how I'd guess the top 25 will go...
1. Louisville 2. Duke 3. Michigan 4. Indiana 5. Kansas
6. Syracuse 7. Gonzaga 8. Arizona 9. Florida 10. Minnesota
11. Ohio State 12. Creighton 13. Butler 14. Missouri 15. San Diego State
16. NC State 17. Kansas State 18. Michigan State 19. Wichita State 20. Illinois
21. Notre Dame 22. New Mexico 23. VCU 24. Marquette 25. Cincinnati
Also...starting to think the old Big East should have invited Boise State as a full member. Knocked off Wyoming this week, have also beat Creighton and LSU this year. Their only two losses are road games against Michigan State and Utah. They might start garnering a few votes of their own this week.
Lunardi was at the game. Gotta think he gives us some attention, which will help. I say 23

I don't mean to quarrel with you Brew but isn't Big Blue #1 this week assuming they beat tOSU (big assumption)? It's kind of funny as I think the BEast has two elite teams. Heart might very well determine who's third in that next group of 5-6. Some will be strong (hopefully MU) and some will fold like cheap tents. Lastly, hats off to Villy. Our C7 brother is playing some solid ball despite losing at Syracuse.

I'm assuming they lose at Ohio State, which is why I dropped them and bumped the Buckeyes up 4 spots. I think Michigan will lose their next 2 games (@ tOSU, @ Minnesota). I know they're sort of everyone's darling as the last unbeaten, but their most impressive win so far is over a Pitt team that we also just beat.
Honestly, if I were voting, I'd still have Duke on top of my ballot, but I think with the fresh loss they'll drop, despite losing to a top-20 team on the road. If I had a vote...
1. Duke 2. Kansas 3. Louisville 4. Michigan 5. Syracuse
6. Indiana 7. Arizona 8. Minnesota 9. Gonzaga 10. Florida
11. Ohio State 12. San Diego State 13. Creighton 14. Butler 15. Michigan State
16. Kansas State 17. NC State 18. Missouri 19. Oregon 20. Connecticut
21. Wichita State 22. Notre Dame 23. VCU 24. Marquette 25. Mississippi
Close -- 26. New Mexico 27. Wyoming 28. Cincinnati 29. Miami 30. Georgetown
This is assuming Michigan loses at tOSU today. Otherwise I would move Michigan up to #1 and Ohio State would drop to 20.

RPI up to 21 we should be ranked between 20 - 24
I may be crazy, but didn't we finish #6 after the Final Four?

We were #6 in the final ESPN/USA Today rankings, but the AP doesn't do a post-Tourney poll. The highest we got in that year in the AP was #8.

We probably will be ranked but I'm not sold we should be ranked or are playing like a top 25 team. We are 3-0 but have squeaked out with a one point win and two overtime wins. If we blow out Seton Hall it will be a better sign, but if we are in another battle I will start thinking it's only a matter of time until our luck flips. It tends to work that way.

Illinois has now been exposed. I think they drop out and that provides additional room for MU to reach the top 25.

Illinois will be interesting. They've lost 4 of 6 but have three very good wins over Butler, Gonzaga, and Ohio State. Of their losses, only Purdue is that bad of a team. I left them off my list because I do think they've been exposed and their last two losses were by heavy margins, but there will probably some voters that had them in the top-10 that simply feel Minnesota is a better team (they're very good) and winning at Wisconsin is a Herculean task.

Michigan down 12 at half; looking good, brew.
Brew, I like your rankings (and your Michigan losing today guess), but I think you have to drop Illinois out of the top 25 and give some love to Oregon.
I'd have to think if Oregon beats ASU tonight, they'll sneak into the top 25 right behind us. I think MU will be in there, but Oregon probably should be as well.
I'd go....
**Assuming Michigan, Michigan State, Oregon and Wichita State all win today**
1. Louisville (15-1)
2. Duke (15-1)
3. Indiana (15-1)
4. Michigan (16-1)
5. Kansas (14-1)
6. Arizona (15-1)

22. Cincinnati (14-3)

My next five: Georgetown, VCU, Illinois, UCLA and Maryland

Not for the Warriors!
Don't think we'll be ranked this week.
If we are not ranked we should be first in others receiving votes. If Pitt was ranked or Georgetown wasn't doing their usual over ranked/underachieving we would be in for sure.
#23 Wichita goes down to Evansville
AP Rankings
#19 - Georgetown, Lost to Pitt
#20 - NC State, Beat Duke (will be moving way up)
#21 - Cincy, Lost to ND
#22 - Mich State, Beat both Iowa and Nebraska (both suck)
#23 - Wichita State, Lost of Evansville
#24 - UNLV, Lost to New Mexico
#25 - New Mexico, Beat UNLV
-----------------------------
#26 - VCU, Beat Dayton and Bonaventure
#27 - Wyoming, Lost to Boise State
#28 - Oklahoma Sate, Lost to Oklahoma
#29 - MU, Beat Pitt
With Wichita State losing, I'd adjust my own rankings like this...
1. Duke 2. Kansas 3. Louisville 4. Michigan 5. Syracuse
6. Indiana 7. Arizona 8. Minnesota 9. Gonzaga 10. Florida
11. Ohio State 12. San Diego State 13. Creighton 14. Butler 15. Michigan State
16. Kansas State 17. NC State 18. Missouri 19. Oregon 20. Connecticut
21. Notre Dame 22. VCU 23. Marquette 24. Mississippi 25. New Mexico
Close -- 26. Wyoming 27. Cincinnati 28. Miami 29. Georgetown 30. Illinois

No, I assumed all the games were done for the week and they did not have a red "L" next to the game on ESPN's site. I will correct if Mich State loses.

Not a big deal. I would have expected MSU to destroy Nebraska in the Breslin.
MSU up 8 with 0:17 to play. Safe to say they'll escape with the win.

28 in the coaches poll.
How about 25-28 being BE teams...the middle of the conference is tight!
Please explain to me how Georgetown has more votes than us and Wisconsin has the same amount of votes as us in this poll? I recall Marquette beating both of those teams.
Wisconsin has 4 losses, one to MU. They drubbed Illinois congrats. ILL is 1-3 in the Big ten. ILL has some big wins I'll give them that.
Georgetown has 4 losses, one to MU. There best win is against an overrated UCLA team. Also, MU just beat Pitt another team that beat Gtown.
