Glad I picked them out round 3 at least... Kansas state might bet them if other make it through this matchup

Is this finally the year? At some point, you know 16/1 is gonna happen.

Hard to tell whether I want them to lose. If they lose it can be a nice miserable way for them to end their BE career. But also, if they lose it will be used by Big ? types to mock the performance of the BE for this tournament.

+1
I went back and changed a bunch of my picks with Syracuse in various pools when I heard Fab Melo was out.

I did the same with my brackets but I had the loosing out in next round.

I can't stand Syracuse being from the Northeast. I was raised to despise them. Would love to see them go out now!

It couldn't happen to a better bunch of guys as far as I'm concerned.

Syracuse is going to end up winning, but they looked awful and didn't deserve to win.

Matt Dickey shoots 38% for the year from 3 and goes 1-12 overall and 1-8 from 3.

Now Syracuse can't even break a UNC-asheville press.

That was a terrible call on the lane violation...and is Syracuse immune to goaltending? Asheville got jobbed on a call earlier

WOW now the ball goes out off SU and they give it to SU.

The refs must have Syracuse going deep in their brackets.

UNC Asheville should be up by 1 instead of down by 3.

These refs should be banned from any other tournament games.  This is why a 16 can't win against a 1.  They have to beat both the team and the refs.

Did anybody notice that Syracuse has 18 players on their roster. Is that some kind of record? Does Boeheim just give random students uniforms and bring them on the trip as community service? What gives?

Intimidation factor. But they are "the deepest team in the tourney" I guess.

The lane violation was technically right, but that out of bounds on the inbounds was terrible

Disagree.  He was fouled as he tipped the ball out.  The ref didn't call the foul.  Had the ref awarded the ball to Ashville, that would have been the biggest wrong of the 3 possibilities, foul, out on SU, out on Ash.

Question about the lane violation .. The FT shooter can't leave the line until the ball hits the rim.  Is there a rule that the 5th man on D can't either?  (That's the only way the call would have been correct)

Not

You can't come beneath the free throw shooter before it touches the rim. The foul vs. the out of bounds is kind of a different argument, the fact they still called it out on UNCA is inexcusable.

I've never heard that before.  Any player (except shooter) is free to enter lane as soon as ball leaves the shooter's hand, no?

I think that's the NBA rule, but im not sure though, the free throw line was the explanation I heard, from Fraschilla I think it was.
