Why wait for the game? We can start the thread now and get all the arguments out of the way before the game even starts.
The alumni sucked because they sat on their hands.
Their were empty seats in the student section so they suck.
No matter what the attendance, even if it was a record, it could have been more. Milwaukee sucks
The marketing department could do more, they suck.
This never happened when Crean was the coach, Buzz sucks
Why wasn't Buzz handing out free pizzas and beer before the game? He obviously doesn't understand what it takes to be a big-time, D-I coach.
I hope this thread comes up after the Georgetown game because it usually follows a win when there is nothing else to complain about ;D
Is this thread necessary when you just said the 4 page thread was not? ::)

You're angry about something......just can't put my finger on it.
Back in (year) when I was a student, we blew off (class name/professional responsibility) and we waited outside the (Old Gym/MECCA/Bradley Center, pick at least one) longer than the students these days, one time even for (number) hours to watch Marquette play (opponent of subjective level of significance), then once we got inside, we were louder, drunker, and crazier than any of you kids! You should be lining up at (equivalent time) if you want to even be considered (fraction) the fans we were back in our day!
You may recognize this line of argument. It's also used to show how "the old cast" of SNL is better, and the new cast sucks. Then five years later, the cast that sucked is now a pantheon of comic genius.
I thought this might be about how pathetic the Georgetown fans are at home games. (they are).

Long live Garrett Morris!
Don't forget that the BC sucks and people choose to not go to games because the viewing angles are tailored for a hockey rink.
Everything sucks. We should forfeit three of our home games out of dishonor to our school
This thread (next saturday) will be about how disappointed everyone is that so many people left while we were celebrating Jae and DJO's time at Marquette. I'm always disappointed that more people don't stick around for the ceremony.

I agree with this 100%. I had to leave right away after the ND game because the girlfriend had to work and with it going to OT, she was already running late. I still felt bad about it. Last year, the place was near empty as we sent off JFB, Buycks, Fulce, and Frozena. I think losing on Senior Day really hurts because a lot of people tend to take off. One more reason I'm hoping for a win this year, maybe more people from what should be a capacity crowd will give DJO and Jae the regular-season sendoff they deserve.

Totally agree. After a win there's just a buzz to the BC that keeps on going during the ceremony.
Either way, DJO and Crowder put in years of work to the program. The least I can do is stick around for 30 minutes after a Saturday home game and give them their props.
Perhaps they should honor the Seniors before the game.

In my day, we had professors meet us at Hegarty's for study sessions, got them drunk on Guinness, and then plied them for the answers they wanted to see on their essay tests. (True)
In my day, one of my profs wrote down the wrong time for the final on his planner so he was an hour late for the final. I went over to Heg's, split a pitcher, shot two games of pool, came back and aced the final (also true)
I went to every game that took place on campus while I was on campus. (true)
This straddled the Majerus/Dukiet transition. I don't want to hear it.
In my day, i liked going to midweek south florida games because i could show up at tip and sit in the lower bowl!
and in December of 2012 after a bad loss as the team adjusts to life without DJO and Jae, this Board will be filled with all sort of nostalgic ruminations of how bad we suck now and the Glory Days of last spring and how the Big East will kick us out to join the Horizon League and remember when we beat Bucky at their place and pasted UCONN on the road? ...ahhh, those were the days.
THESE ARE THE DAYS!! SHOW UP AND ENJOY THEM!
And laugh hard at Digger.....

The heartbreaking 3 point foul with 2 seconds left to send it to OT. At the 4:30 mark right after it happens, they flash to Crean - his reaction? Slam a Diet Pepsi. Hilarious.

They do it after the game?! That's a terrible idea. Everyone else as far as I know does it before the game. Doing it after the game seems like a bad idea. Especially if the team loses. I'm not surprised people leave. They should think about moving it to pregame.

I think doing it after the game is pretty common. They don't want to mess up the pre-game routine.

Took this from a GT forum today in regards to the Bradley Center...
It is one tough place to play. Even though it is an NBA style arena, it is an extremely loud and hostile college hoops environment. It is one of those places where you feel slightly unsafe rooting for the visiting team (that doesn't stop me). The fans are pretty intense and they have a nice history they draw on, from the Al McGuire 1970s teams to more recently Dwayne Wade.
http://hoyatalk2.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=25450&page=3
I think we're too hard on our fans and our arena. Announcers consistently say how tough it is to win at the BC. Other fans clearly think our arena is tough to play at. Then again, it IS GT, and they DO sell some of their tickets via Groupon.

That was a HORRIBLY officiated game. I normally like Driscoll, but he had a bad game. Donato, IMHO, is an inconsistent official. I have not watched Beaver - or noticed him - before, but he was the tickiest of tac.
I think both teams could blame the refs today. Never let a flow get into the game. Inconsistent with their calls. Made for a long game. The only other time I thought it was officiated this poorly was the Nova game at their place.

I think Donato is pretty good in general, just had an off day today. The first 8 minutes of the second half were pretty terrible, more so for them than us, but just too ticky tac all around.
They sucked something fierce all game, that was apparent from the 400 level. The good guys won though, so the GU tears are sustenance tonight.
Rarely will you see me watching WWC basketball, but did anyone see the San Francisco coach get a T for clapping at the referee tonight? Buzz would be toast with that guy.

I am not a fan of Donato. He is far too inconsistent a ref for my taste. I cringe when I see him. Oddly, I would substitute Driscoll for Donato in your statement.
