Not as slow as usual, we're getting baskets. Just no more giving up wide open 3's please.

This is the Odom of last season. Poised and powerful.
5 for 5 from beyond...
Who started...Blue or Mayo?
Blue.
MU needs to maintain their pace. These quick bursts do them in.
Well, up 9 with 9 to go, now tied. Thought for a minute MU would put their foot on PU's neck, but not yet.
Better watch their fouls.

He sat for like 10 minutes. MU had six point lead, came back in and now tied.
Junior has two fouls, thats is only reason he is playing.
Did providence just get a turkey on us?!!!
That Cotton shot didn't look like a 3 on replay.
TODD MAYO: GET OUT OF MY KITCHEN
How many jump shots have our guards blocked this year? Answer...none. How many shooters have they put on the line attempting to block a jumper? Answer....one too many. This dates back to Dominic James...It's stupid.
If it wasn't for the terrible fouls on jump shooters and getting owned on their defensive board, this was a solid half.
Ach, would be up double digits if we weren't getting slaughtered on the defensive glass.. Hopefully a combination of the 3/4 pressure and getting some good minutes from Gardner to take up space or Anderson to pull some down can fix that in the second.
I must say. BE network is so low budget.

Agreed. The feed blows & the color commentator sounds kinda like the mayor on the simpsons
Reason MU is behind:
Rebounding. PU has 24, MU 15.
PU has 10 offensive, MU has 4
Batts has 11 for himself.
Free Throws. PU has 13, MU 5
Fouling Cotton on a three and Council on last second shot stunk. Stop fouling Cotton.
Adjust to above in some way and MU will pull this out.
Gardner is a no show and Blue is a no show. Rest of team playing well, especially DJO and Jae.
ND ahead ....under 2min
BTW, PU is shooting 30% for the game and is in the lead. Unreal......
Cannot see a team shooting 30% and then winning.

You nailed it earlier...rebounding.
Hoping for a better 2nd half from Ox which in turn would help with the rebounding disparity. DJO, Jae, Mayo, Jamil look solid and 7 dimes from Junior. Vander looks lost again. Hit the glass, get some paint touches which will even out the foul shots and we will get this W.
Free throw difference is the reason the team shooting 30% in leading.
Missed the 1st half see the box score but anyone fill me in? I see Ox didnt score at all but had 2 fouls so did he sit a lot? DJO and Jae filling it up but batts with 11 1st half boards? I know Prov is good at getting to the line but 17 freebies already?

Odom is very good.
MU getting bitched on their glass. Leading to swipes on second chances, thus, the high FT attempts.
They've also decided not to defend PC's best 3 shooter.
Did Ox miss a team meeting or somethin'?
With Cuse going down, MU cannot blow this opportunity.
Real chance to get into title chase.

But that's the problem right there - he never gets any playing time on a consistent basis to see if he should be taking time from anyone. The most minutes he played all season was the opening game and that was also his best statistical game. I watched the Duke game today and watched Austin Rivers play pretty well (even though Duke lost at the buzzer). I remember watching Jones go off against Rivers on national TV in high school and being excited that Jones was actually coming to MU. Then, since he's been here, he rarely plays, and when he does get in, seems to have no confidence on his shot. Jones has collected 4 DNPs in the 7 Big East games this season, and has played a grand total of 15 minutes in the 3 games he got in, with a minute, here, a minute there, and playing no longer than 3 minutes straight in any game. How is any player supposed to develop with that limited playing time?

Just because Mello is one of the hardest workers on the team doesn't mean he's actually got the defense down. We don't know what he looks like in practice other than Buzz saying he's a hard worker. This team is built on defense, which in turn generates the offense. If Mello can't play defense, he shouldn't be on the court.
That said, Juan Anderson last night looked really good on both offense and defense. However I was really impressed with his rebounding skills. Every time a shot went up he got position on his guy, boxed him up, and had a legit shot for the board. While long athletic teams still worry me with this MU squad, having Anderson continue to develop and build confidence will be critical to beating those kinds of teams.
I really enjoyed the lineup down the stretch that had Jamil, Jae, and Gardner on the court at the same time.

The best talent will play regardless of practice work ethic. And that's just fine.
Maybe its just me, but I think Jones has been ok on the defensive side this season when he does get some playing time. He's stepped up his rebounding and has had some nice assists too. He's just lost touch on his shot, and its probably all mental. I'd also buy the argument about defense earning you playing time if it wasn't for the fact that a lot of the guys who play a ton make numerous mistakes on D and still continue to play.

The only players who make mistakes on defense and still play are those who can score. I guess I don't know what you are trying to imply. If Buzz thought he could contribute, he'd play right? Why would he keep him on the bench?

I think it may be just you. I have watched Mellow when he is on the court. I like Mellow and hope he improves and contributes down the road, but, right now he is a HUGE liability on D. Can't stay with his man, which has caused big time breakdowns when he is in there. He just does not have the defensive feel or skill set right now. In addition, he is not hitting his shot - not even close. Hard to see where he would get playing time right now.

I would agree that Jones has been much improved on defense when he makes it onto the court. He had a couple of games earlier this year when I thought maybe he had turned a corner and was heading towards being a productive player for us. I guess I don't see what you do. I am not watching on TV, that may be the difference. As I stated, when he gets in, I have focused on him. I guess I don't see what you do. I am not watching on TV, that may be the difference. As I stated, when he gets in, I have focused on him. He uses his hands, not his feet - picked up some cheap fouls that way. When his man does not have the ball and is on the move, he get's lost. Players blow by him far too easily with the ball.
You are correct, there wasn't a single breakdown involving JJ, more like multiple.
You attend every single MU game in person?

Keno Davis was a bullet that we fortunately dodged when TC skedaddled. Cooley is a definite upgrade.
