Raining 3 pointers. Stretching their D. We look good on the boards too.

Yup, the dark blues are looking really good this year. Great start, hopefully we keep it going.
Agh why does Crowder force so many shots? I like the guy but dude chill out.
Why are we fouling so much?
Arena half filled at most...for a top ten team.
Calls really going against us. Need to be careful with the fouls.
We are playing borderline braindead.
What was Junior trying to do on that layup?
Really playing stupid basketball right now. Both PG's with brain dead plays. Why is Cadougan taking a circus shot on a break? Silly fouls - especially the two on the 3 balls. Crowder forcing things. Need to settle down.
That big dude thats dunking looks like hes 30 years old! We have to move the ball around. Wilsons got to get tougher!

No chance we win this game. Honestly the entire team is drunk. It's either pray a 3 goes in or turn it over.
If we don't rebound better, this could be a long game. Geez, another heineken ad.
It's time for DJO to show some Senior leadership and take this team over. The early fouls and then the zone by LSU has slowed MU down.
Against LSU on the glass, you see Crowder's lack of fundamentals on the glass. Never looks for a man to box out and they are getting easy put backs.
We need Otule!
MU playing stupid. Wilson plays horrible D. And we get caught in the air with the ball too much.
Uni's my ass - we need boards.
We are simply too small for a team like this. Over half our shots are threes right now because we cannot get any penetration. Hopefully we can make some adjustments.
And I don't think they are playing zone...we just don't have any movement.
LSU is outrebounding us and there size is giving us trouble on the offensive end.
If we're too small, then we need to start running. This is too ugly.

I think Juan Anderson might be able to help in a game like this.
Does anyone know how to box out on a missed FT?
We have absolutly no offense
Need to kick #24 in the baby maker.
The number 10 team in the country better get point guard play soon. Junior is just having a terrible game.
That guy Warren is killing them, just killing.
The word is out on Vander and Junior. You don't have to be within 20 feet of either one.
Need to really lock this team down. Too many easy baskets for LSU. They are doing whatever they want underneath and we keep settling for awful three's.
Terribly undersized and leaving his man wide open, not boxing out.
was plain to see we're overrated. Buzz, still not sold. and you can tack that to the top.
What does Cadougan bring?

what was that on the free throw from JR?
We can't stand around with all their bigs inside, we really get in a funk.
Was Cadougan's FT wide right?
Big Whitey's foot was definitely on the line during Cadougan's charge.
Should have been a blocking foul on Cadougan's drive. Defenders foot was in the circle. Plus, he was moving.
Full court press. Let's gat a couple of turnovers.
If you're a point guard who can't finish drives and can't hit free throws, you ain't gonna last long.
Junior's FT looked like both of Crosby's missed FGs - wide right!
Unless Buzz has sumthin up his sleeve,we're in trouble. No driving lanes.
Hey...a timeout to draw up a Davante three pointer!!!
Gardner shooting a 3 with 5 left on the clock is not my shot of choice.
So the last shot goes to the center shooting a three, nice.......
LSU has big noggins? When a perennial football school has the same tradition as a school where basketball is king, I think it's time to put down the cardboard.

Not a bad call, actually. He got a good look.
Add to that a homer call with the bench warning on Buzz....he's ALWAYS all over the court and not even in Madison did they call him out on it.
We are just absolutly terrible
Not hard to figure out, LSU went into a zone. Why anybody would play this team man to man is beyond me. It took LSU 13 points in 3.5 minutes to figure that out.
Something has to give. Marquette either needs to find a way to have consistent success against zone defenses, or Big East play may be rougher than we have anticipated. I think they can make adjustments. Let's see how they come out in the second half.
Is that really the best shot they could get after the TO?
First 3:30 - 13 points
Next 16:30 - 10 points
That is unreal and very sad.
Lets see if they adjust and get them back in second half.
We are only getting out rebounded 19-16. Sure seems like MU has been out rebounded by 10.

MU had four offensive rebounds in one possession, that skewed the numbers a bit.
We were up 8-1 in the first few minutes in rebounds. Since then, 18-8. There's your 10-board margin.

LSU is not playing zone.
MU is 4 for 14 from three (28%), same as fg percentage (28%).
LSU is 1 for 2 from three.
That percentage continues and they deserve to lose. Lets see what adjustments.
That Heineken commercial is not so bad if you see the uncut version. This one they keep showing with all the edits made no sense to me.
Calm down. It could be worse: Kansas losing to Davidson at home at half. Our shooting percentage can't get worse. We'll bounce back.
MU is playing like pooh, could things be going any worse? Down by three at half though, I think we win by seven. What is up Jamail's Marquette blue shoes? Come on Warriors!!!!
That half proves why Otule is so valuable. They ate us alive on the glass and got a bunch of second chance pts.
Let's regroup and win this one.

They're getting easier baskets than we are.
DJO's 3 made me think he was coming alive. His TO on the break reminded me that he is really making horrible decisions.

Yeah I'm not going to blame the refs, we are really playing well below what we are capable of. DJO and Mayo are not bringing their A game and as a result, our offense has been spotty at best.
Is DJO on some sort of medication tonight? He just seems clueless out there. Every time they set up man-on-man with him, they leave the left side wide open. He should be eating them alive driving to the left.

Lay off, kill the penetration, make them hear the clunk of that rim early and you don't allow any confidence to creep in.

Out worked. Haven't seen us like this, so lethargic. Gardner didn't look like he wanted to be out there. Too bad, let's pick it up after Christmas!
We play Thursday...
How do we always let their worse shooter go off?

After Christmas??????
They've got a game on Thursday and will get crap smoked in their own building with this kind of effort.
Not the end of the world but I hope this is a wake up call for DJO, not sure what his deal was tonight but outside of 3 or 4 plays, he was a non factor. We were just too sloppy tonight. I do think they'll get it together for the next game. I have to admit, I am a little concerned heading in to conference play.
LSU shot the lights out.
What can you say.

Agree. Tonight LSU hit the key shots. In the last 4-5 minutes, when we would go up 2, they would hit a huge 3. Happened a couple of times.
MU gutted it, but it showed early that it was not their night.
Sometimes these losses are a good thing to the team. A gut check before the BE season. 10 and 1 so far is very good, but some weaknesses were observed tonight. #1 is point guard play, just brutal. #2 hope DJO doesn't go into his "funk" mode like last year.
Get back home and re-group.
gardner really did look tired, frustrated, lazy whatever you wanna call it just playing slop, too many acting jobs trying to get the foul called , idk he usually is one of my favs out there, looked like trash tonight
DJO cannot have performances like that. Great players don't play like that.
Gardner looked like a disinterested bum. Off nights are one thing, but lack of effort is inexcusable.

Yup, MU kept getting 1-2 point leads and LSU would immediately score on the next play. I think I've said "MU needs a stop here" over a dozen times this half and they got it about 1-2 times.
Plus side: we can now rue the games we wear all our blue unis.

Absolutely no big man/inside presence. I never thought I'd say this... but they need Otule.
You didn't think so? I knew I'd say it the second he got hurt.
Just another typical day when the opponent decides to explode from 3 on us... 63.5%
Running the same inbound play 2 x in a row and Devante not taking care of the ball MU could have gone up 4. Instead they lose by 8. This team was flummoxed by a really mediocre team.
Thud right down to 19 where they belong.
We played bad and lost. It happens. Learn and move on. Bring on UWM!!

crap, I don't know, attempt to play some semblance of fundamental defense rather then running around looking for steals on every pass.
MU's 3 defense is horrid. Has been the entire season.
Davante always looks a little "sleepy" out there. But he is going to look worse when the other team has an athletic front line.
Crap >:(

Our rotations were bad again. I know what Buzz *wants* to do, but I am not sure if this group can do it.
Oh yeah, Thursday, oops. C'mon boys, let's whip UW-M.
LSU is Washington lite. They've got some talent on that team. I'd rather lose (if we had to) at Baton Rouge instead of Madison!

That is the same look he always has. I did not see the same lack of effort you did. He was active on the boards, got a few put backs. Hustled on defense, well in relative terms at least.

I don't know, he seemed to lose interest. At one point he "set a screen" by sticking out his rear end. I get that his demeanor is a bit sluggish, but c'mon.

Season checklist
(x) Non-conference near-miss against inferior opponent (sky falls on Scoop)
(x) Non-conference stinker to inferior opponent (more sky-falling)
( ) Non-conference loss on big stage convinces board MU not ready for Big East
( ) Unmentionable conference loss
( ) Road Game we weren't supposed to win
( ) Late surge
( ) Top-half Big East Finish
You forgot "Key Injury to player and Sky starts falling"
Right on schedule...
It's tough to win on the road. It's even tougher to win when they shoot 63% from 3

Davante is bad on defense and even worse at getting rebounds. He got schooled by those guys out there.
Yes, he gives up height, but rebounding isnt about height.
The first problem with last night's game was I wore none of my lucky game day Marquette spirt wear starting from my underwear right up to my travel coffee cup. I thought the game was tonight. Maybe the team did too?

He also gives up quickness AND athleticism. Look, we all know what Gardner is. He is a big, strong, relatively immobile body who can't jump over a postage stamp. By definition that makes him a poor defender, regardless of effort expended. On the other hand, he has excellent hands and feet, a clever variety of moves around the hoop and excellent passing skills for a big man. There are games where his total game will be very useful, and others (against big, quick, athletic front lines) where his game is less useful.
