Hey buddy... Looks like we are starting out on espn3.... I knew this would happen. Watch Oklahoma go on a run and send it to overtime.
Will this be on ESPN2?
YES
Starters... Irving, Singler, Crumlee, Kelly.. Missed the 5th...
Butler, DJO, Buycks, Blue, Otule... Started on ESPN3
http://tinychat.com/warriors
0 for 3 from field. 2 turnovers in first two minutes.
0 for 4 from field.
God I hate ESPN sometimes. First endless NASCAR coverage yesterday during NFL games, then showing the final seconds of a double digit game over the start of ours.
They just showed us starting 4 guards and a center... Idiots.
Jr is looking trim.(No homo.) Otule started? How long was he in?
Vitale will drive me insane tonight will he ever shut up
Take Vander Out
Otule is lost
Otule is a scrub...I am sorry just a scrub
Can someone please let Otule know that the game has started!
Why do people hate Duke Dick? Because of you. Shuuuuuuttt up.
Our offense is stinking right now. We need to start hitting shots and making passes.
Wow, this looks like a #1 team against an unranked team

hmmm, makes perfect sense then
Would love to see DG soon..
Vitale needs to be put in a home. Dude is borderline incoherent.
OX is out for the game is he not?
Just checking in to see if the sky has fallen yet.
doesn't look like the typical "play hard" MU team right now...hopefully buzz will kick start them...good oreb for otule...need more of that
Is Dick Vitale on the Duke payroll? Honestly?
Duke's guards are pushing us out too far and we can't get anything done on the perimeter. We have to pound it inside. And dickie V is right. Be patient on offense.
DJO can't miss those. Can not
OOOOOXXXXXXXXX
Junior has to run the break better than that
I think Gardners in
I miss the old DJO
Looked like an extra step before the pass
Can we stop shooting 3's..drive the ball and we are in this
I don't know what to think about djo.
Missed threes. Wide open. Need to convert those shots.
nice bucket by ox. i think djo needs to stop shooting 3's and drive instead
Our defense is really bad!
DJO another wide open 3 miss, great Butler rebound and then stupid DJO foul.
What is going on with him? Thats two wide open set shots in last two minutes.

Just a cold streak .. he needs to keep shooting. Will be fine.
DJO please!! Let's get it going man
Who fouled Smith??
Wow Dick gave us a compliment. Um goaltending
He changes the subject when Duke makes a bad play
OX is a beast
DJO stop please!!!!
Vitale is Captain Ahab

What is going on with him?!?! It is like night and day from last year.
Blocking, oh wait I will let the guy behind the play call it.
DJO is driving me nuts...but I don't know what more he can do. He's just missing, plenty of open looks, he's just in a slump :(
You are right. Djo needs to keep shooting.
Junior looks real good out there.

yup.. guy under basket was calling a block.. what a joke
Cadougan's looking like a wizard. At least 2 assists taken away by a missed goaltending call and a missed DJO 3.
need more gardner....djo is getting into the lane at will...need him to drive and dish more...

Had to mute it. Can't take Dickie V anymore
Crowder has to stop looking at Plumlee. They will call that evrytime.
Ox looking awesome, night and day compare to Otule. Cadougan's the only guard who seems to understand the flow of the game. Frozena would have been better out there than DJO so far.
Ox is a stud! He is having a bit of a problem running hte floor though. Loose a few more lbs and he could be a force.
Jae got his moneys worth on that one
Why are they talking about I4 and how hard he works?

Time to go straight at Plumlee, get another foul on him before halftime, come on, Ox!
Total different team when Gardner is on the floor.
I hate when people say this but I am going to anyway we are not that far out of this game. Just make our open shots and then we could be there. Duke is playing like they think they are a ton better than us, and that will hurt them.
Cadougan appears to be the man at point.
Singler is automatic

Damm now I feel real dumb!!
That last shot was the story of the first half!!!!
Duke look very good. It's been respectable though. DJO makes some of his shots and we're definitely in this game. But there's no chance we can win without DJO coming up big in the 2nd half.
I'd like to see a lot of...jc..db...jfb...jae...ox...in the 2nd half..
earth to DJO - WE NEED YOU - please wake up djo
Blue has been MIA too! His lack of offense is killing us as well!
More points off the bench than from the starters. WTF?
Halftime thoughts:
1. That's all they can draw up off the inbound?
2. DJO obviously needs to get it going
3. Otule really looking poor, but glad to have his extra fouls to keep the heat off Jae and Ox
4. Does Singler ever miss?
5. WAY too many TO's
-But on the bright side-
1. DG is the real deal. Looking really good and what a breath of fresh air to see that down low.
2. JB is unreal and is playing at the level he will need to
3. JC looking really good. I would think he is seriously answering the pg questions. Looks like he belongs
Definitely don't think they're out of this at all. This one is out there for the taking.
Halftime. Junior looks real good. Djo looks lost. Jfb is the man. Our perimeter defense is killing us. Singler is quite the player.
Maybe DJO should see a sports psychologist... ?-(
And sadly, this is what we should expect out of Blue this year. Defensively more than ready, but we might as well be playing with Mo Acker. A Mo Acker with the outside game of Ousmane Barro. Hope I'm wrong and he shows something as the year progresses.
What is DJOs problem? This kid is a completely different player this year than he was last year.
And has anyone been able to keep track of the number of travels duke has gotten away with? It's ridiculous
Crowder played great as well...
DJO 0 for 8, with four wide open misses from three. Enough of the NBA talk. Terrible.
Gardner is way better than Otule, but can he going up and down the court for extended period.
Junior should have just won the PG position.
This could have been real close at halftime, but.....
Duke is very good, has size, guard quickness and Singler can certainly shoot.

agree 100%... we are one step behind on defense. Altogether, the only area I am disappointed in is with DJO's open shot percentage... Other than that, keep it up. Junior is playing great.
Side note from my friend at the game: A duke fan sitting behind me is cross-eyed and missing three teeth
I think Gardner looks like he is in a lot of pain, with his shoulder. Gotta hope he can make it through this game, and with no further damage.
Quote from: The Sultan of South Wayne on November 22, 2010, 07:07:21 PM
I don't know what to think about djo.
He just needs to see a few shots go in..all in his head now...which is NOT GOOD. Hope he gets a few to fall..think they will come in bunches once they do..
if DJO can't make a three point shot(which he cannot) then he needs to drive to the hoop and get some fouls called on the other team.
He seems slow this year and his defense is somewhat sloppy.

Is it not just him fixing the pad they have on him under the shirt or are you at the game and noticing facial expressions of real pain?
Vander a little nervous? hes just getting no attention whatsoever on the floor. I can't even tell when he's on the floor.
We need DJO to make some shots.
JC and the Oxe with a nice half.
DJO is a headcase now. He had open threes - which was tought to get in our first 4 games - and he missed. He needs to get the cobwebs out of his head, and feed his brain at half time wwith some positive vibes.
Gardner is playing great - filled the lane up under the basket once which caused a turnover. Love this kid.
Junior - great pass to Bulter, looking good.
If DJO was hitting his normal percents from last year - we are tied.
Perimeter D is absent. Got a little better last coupel of minutes.
We are playing tough, are not afraid of Duke and we are working very hard. Hope Buzz can make some half time adjustments here.
I'd like to see a quick little run by us to start the half.
GO MARQUETTE!

He is 2 for 16 (12%) on the year. I'd like to see just one go in at this point.
Really, if he keeps missing, does Buzz let him sit.
I wouldn't say DJO is a headcase. Headcase means a trouble maker.
If DJO can't shoot, we should go with the following:
Buycks -- Been solid all year
Cadougan -- Not a scorer, but plays under control
Blue/Otule -- Odd combo, but both are impact players defensively, I think they can be interchangeable, really
Butler -- He's JFB, 'nuff said.
Crowder/Gardner -- Our two best inside offensive options not named Butler
That's a seven deep roster that should get us through the second half without the misses of DJO.
Oh for the love of god, it's NOT Johnson! It's not Odom-Johnson! It's Johnson-Odom. Do some damn research, Dookie V!
Jae, Jimmy, Dwight, Junior and Gardner are playing well. Vander, Chris and DJO have to get it together. looks as if Gardner's shoulder is bothering him.
I can see DJO breaking out of this at some point but it might not be in the next two nights. We need to stop any early runs to stay in this until the 10 minute mark
seriously make the damn free throws
Boom.
That is a good hot for DJO and maybe something good for the second half...there we go!!!
Suck it DUKE!!!!!! This is what we needed to do!!!!

It sounds like everyone not there for Duke, wants to cheer for MU. A little run could get interesting
Nice run and doing it without Crowder and the OX.
I would love to eat some mean crow if DJO can keep up that kind of play!
Also, whoever noted how Dooky V changes the subject every time Dook screws up was exactly right. Almost comical listening to it.
Two great defensive stands. Just wish we could finish!
Everytime the mo is on MU's side, they miss a three.
Is it just me or does every Duke player step into a jumping Butler and never get called for a foul?
Duke looks like they think they are #1 and we should just step aside for them, well guess what not happening yet
How can you say he changes the subject when the subject is always Duke? ;)

Just get to the timeout and I will feel good!!
Thanks for the comments dookie v, but I would prefer u just shut up.
This is what we've been waiting for! If we just start hitting from deep, we can win this game!
So let me get this straight, Dick finally thinks it is a good one and there is 12 minutes left? Thanks for waking up old man
17 turnovers by Duke.
I think MU finally has a big man! ;)
Did Dick say Don't bring that junior college stuff in here to Jaev or did I imagine it
Now Dick is sucking up to us? no thank you
Hell yea. And 1
DJO is back baby
haha freaking air-balled free throw by Plumlee... ;D
lets get that killer instinct back!
Time to slow down and just keep Duke in check. Where is OX by the way
Buycks TOs are brutal.
Buycks is being the DJO of the 2nd half
57 all, then 3 turnovers, two by Buycks. DJO circus shot and a 9-0 run
A number of horrid possessions in a row is killing us.
How do we play so well for a minute and then play like complete and utter crap the next.
Block, and one. No wait its Duke... Charge

Stoopid not giving up the rock to Jae
If I were Buzz, I would sit DJO down and keep him there. He has done this ball hog thing in 5 strtaight games to the detriment of the team. Give the damn ball up. Really gets me angry - he has done that all year.
What an awful play coulda had a dunk instead of that...
I agree about the dumb play chren, just have never seen an official flip flop on a call this many times.
It looked the the ref said to count the basket, but I guess not

Too selfish
Agree it was a charge. DJO had a great five minute spree, but last few possesions, UGH.....

God, we look freaking terrible.
Nearly projectile from my pov
had em on the ropes and stopped playing smart! Smart bball from now to the end and maybe we can keep it interesting!
Devante manning up , playin with a dislocated shoulder. Not easy to do
How about we foul Pumlee for the 1 and 1?
ox hopefully just didnt make his injury worse.......................... man i wanted this game so bad......
He can't play tomorrow
Cue Dennis Green references.... We let em off the hook!
Looks like the OX is done. He played awesome under his injury status.
If only some of those threes went down tonight. Was great when it was 57-57, after that......
Only hope is to get a stop and a 3. Get within 5 with 2:00 to play and we still have a chance.
At least it's safe to say Duke won't cover the ESPN Streak for the Cash...no way Duke's winning margin is more than JFB's point total.
Otule, hands of stone
Need to tighten up our Defense A TON before conference play.
Hope Buzz leaves Gardner out for a cuple of games.

Yeah, but it was Plumlee's hands in his back that caused the out of bounds. Should have been a foul.
I missed the push I guess. My apologies Chris.
If Plumlee puts on 20 lbs he is unstoppable
MU has to lead all sports teams ever in the amount of personal career games given up to opponents. By far.
Buycks is SO out of control all the time... sloppy, sloppy, sloppy.
Cmon keep it single digits
We really need to recruit more descent big men that are 6'10 +
DB killed our chances tonight.
I've been watching on and off, but I think we held our own considering we're unranked and half our guys are newbs and they're the #1 national champions and refs be all up on their junks.
Cadougan and Gardner...great combination...don't look prototypical ballers but they are gonna be a great combination throughout the years.
Gotta love how this is somehow "somebody's" fault.
It can't be that Duke is just better.
Give me a break.
Who was out of bounds there?
Despite looking like crap for a 5 minute stretch in the second half I think that this team is going to be alright. I thought going into this tournament that if we went 1-1 that I would be very happy. So let's see if they can bounce back tomorrow night and get the split.
Too many questionable calls went Duke's way...SHOCKING!

Agreed...but only if he always plays teams with no bigs.
Nice effort against #1 team. Plumlee was real tough and MU had no height to guard him.
So it is Dickies job to tell people that they should be ashamed to not like Duke. I actually like them more than I hate them, but that pisses me off.
While the officiating did suck, Duke is the better team. Plumlee was tremendous. Buzz will need to come up with something for the next time we face a talented big.
we gave away too much height as usual.
the guys played hard MU ball
Very good effort, accurate gauge of where we are--I agree with commentators we look better than 8th best in BE. As they play more as a unit, improve shot selection, I can see a pretty good year...at least making the tourney.
Lets not totally knock Otule. He did some good things too this game. Had some nice post ups and blocked a shot or two.
Needs to be more of a presence on D and rebound better. You're born with good hands, so he'll have to adapt as best he can on that.
We were 4-21 from three... Man that stinks.

Buzz can't coach guys to be 6" taller so they'll need to do a better job boxing out and staying in good position on D - too many put-backs and easy shots. Being able to hit from the perimeter on the other end wouldn't hurt either.
They played good tonight. A lot of great teams can't stay with the #1 team, we did. This was by far NOT ONE persons fault (DB). Like Dick said, were going to be good this year.
Also, was this Juniors best D1 game yet? That's pass to Jae was sick.
I think from where the pad was, Ox didn't have a shoulder dislocation but rather an AC sprain - also a "shot" before the game could help the AC joint but wouldn't make sense if there had been a dislocation.
There's signs of promise - it's only November.
We were better than all their bigs but one. When the other Plumlee and that other big were out there, we pretty much just took the ball away from them to the extent that they went 4 small to win.
The way I see it is Otule has to be able to hold his own against the better Plumlee because no one else has the physical credentials. At times you can see he gets it, but he's got to be more consistent and more natural in finding his way around the court, knowing where he needs to be and what he needs to be doing. At this point in time, he is inconsistent enough that Buzz thinks Crowder and Gardner are both better options when Plumlee ate them up at the key time of the game simply because of his size. Buzz would rather take a chance on their skills than go with the size which is a necessary prerequisite to stopping Plumlee because Otule is not who he needs to be yet. Otule needs to be the sheriff.
I can tell you from experience that a dislocation requires a sling to prevent the arm from coming out again and you are looking at 6 - 8 week before rehab can start.
Ox did many good things tonight, but we saw his attention waver on defense and we saw the result. If his position isn't perfect, he is in trouble because he does not have the quicks or ups to recover. And he failed to get defensive rebounding position a number of times. Freshman. Great hands and feet. He will probably be starting by the BEast season with Otule matching up against the other team's back up big.

based on my experience this is correct. I've dislocated my shoulder twice (most painful thing I've ever experienced). If Ox had dislocated his shoulder he'd be out for a good part of the season.
