#125. Beloit
#152. St. Norberts
#184. Carroll
#195. Ripon
#212. Madison
#238. Wisconsin Lutheran
Yea, they make these ridiculous rankings every year. That list alone shows how dumb it is.
Opinions are like a$$holes
I blame the JUCO's.
Don't expect a higher ranking when NLI aren't honored.
If the Tanned One were still here, the rank would be much higher.
That must be why they had Indiana ranked in front of us.

Seriously, under what kind of criteria would Lawrence be ranked as the tope school in Wisconsin?

This must be why Williams College is ranked number 1, because Buzz WILLIAMS is at Marquette

Here you go

Are you kidding? These criteria are *awful*!!
22.5% of the rating is weighted to student evaluations from RateMyProfessor.com or MyPlan.com, but only 5% is on freshman to sophomore retention rates?
10% is from Alumni listed in Who's Who in America? I mean...seriously????
and if 12.5% is about debt load on the student, and you have a bunch of small, private schools near the top of the list, you should probably realize its because rich family members are funding their education.
Complete joke.

OK...I guess we all need to sign up Who's Who in America. If enough of us do it, maybe we can jump 10 spots!

I hope alumni like myself are all smarter than paying to be in Who's Who.
Exactly, it should be a contra-indicator
This is how the ranking should be determined...
Female to Male ratio 5%
Attractiveness of Females 20%
Area Bars 25%
After Hours Eats 15%
Athletic Success 20%
Blow Off Classes Available (bowling, Golf, etc) 10%
Famous Alumni 5%
You had to throw this "list" in the garbage even if after just a glance. After discounting the gratuitous Stanford mention, the list had such an East (specifically, NE) bias its merits could not be defended. I'm just surprised a seemingly well-respected publication like Forbes went for it. Then again, now that I say that, isn't Forbes just known for E! and VH1-like "Top" lists.

Where would we be on this list?
Female to Male ratio 5% - Probably 4%
Attractiveness of Females 20% - Probably 10%
Area Bars 25% - Does Water Street count? Ricky's on State? 25%
After Hours Eats 15% - 15%
Athletic Success 20% - 10%
Blow Off Classes Available (bowling, Golf, etc) 10% - 2%
Famous Alumni 5% - 2%
So not well.
another website that looks at core curiculum

Marquette gets a B
Madison gets a D
Any site that ranks Superior ahead of Madison should be looked at with some skepticism.

Boy, not sure what that site really looks at. Check these grades out:
Yale - F
Harvard - D
Princeton - C
Cal Berkeley - F

I read through their FAQ and these are some solid rankings. In a nutshell, the rankings are focused on core cirrculum requirements. Schools like Madison offer so many classes that can fulfill core requirements, students can get away with taking blow off classes. With such classes, this website states the student is not coming out of school with the basic skills they should.
Basically, you fulfill a requirement but you're not helping yourself with "The History of Television."

Well, "the basic skills you should" is a pretty subjective statement. Does the History of Western Civilization give you any more "basic skills" than the History of Television??? I mean, one gives you a better base of knowledge, but does it help you enough to where attending UW-Superior over UW-Madison is a good career option?

I don't usually like to toot Madison's horn, but the fact that a school with a fine academic reputation such as Madison being at number 212 proves these rankings are an absolute joke.

Not at all. I think they have an interesting take though.
