Hear ye! Hear ye! Hear ye!
First proposal: there will never be taxation without representation, MUScoop is free for the people by the people.
Hey, that's actually kinda' like our byline: "By the fans, For the fans"...

Guess I'll use this thread to say I appreciate the site. I look at other boards like Brewerfan.net and frankly they take themselves a little too seriously. You guys have a good flow to the board. Thanks again for putting the time in.
I think the mods should personally review ever single post before it goes live. And it would be nice if they could make spelling and grammar corrections too. Oh, and edit out the really stupid stuff.
I'll add my thanks to the mods for a great site.
I feel as if all the thread-locking going on has been oppressing me.
I object to be automatically being treated as an inferior. Listen -- strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for promoting people to moderator. Supreme administrative rights are derived from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony!

Happy Friday! :)
Badger fans shall count as 3/5 of a member.
Time to rip on phony, self-absorbed, used car salesman-like former head coaches. ;D
Please state that in the form of a proposal:
2) In the middle of every thread, no matter the subject**, 4ever, PRN, DKCL or any other poster who knows what ACAT stands for, will post a rip on phony, self-absorbed, used car salesman-like former head coaches.
a) In many cases, the ensuing debate should completely consume the thread.
b) In cases where the subject of the thread is Al McGuire, this requirement may be ignored.

I also really appreciate this site, but there is a reason why the Scout and Rivals boards have detailed and accessible terms of service agreements and privacy policies.
I would hate for the owners of this site to get sued and for MUSCOOP to be get shut down.
A robust community guidelines and privacy policy are completely different from a bill of rights and a constitution.
Given that this site is run by Marquette fans for Marquette fans rather than by a large corporation, I thought it be appropriate to open up the creation of these documents to the community.
If the mods and site owners would rather create these documents themselves and simply make them more accessible, I'm fine with that too.
And of course they can completely disregard my suggestion, but as someone who really does deal with these issues for a living, I would strongly advise against that.
Also stating that you will never sell personal information in a topic thread is not the same as having a formal privacy policy.
3) The use of teal for sarcasm is expressly forbidden, unless your sarcasm is so bad that nobody knows it's sarcasm
4) The moderators at MUScoop appreciate the concern of SCdem@MU, however, the suggestions on robust community guidelines, and a formal privacy policy will be completely disregarded, almost casually.
a) This can happen several times in one day.
b) Not to exceed 5 serving per day
Privacy policy smivacy policy.
There are about 12 people on the whole internet who know what a privacy policy is. And another 12 people in the US that read the constant privacy policy letters that arrive in their mailbox on a weekly basis. Oh, and another 12 people who read the Terms of Service on websites.
SCDem, I'm am guessing that you are the only one who is concerned about our lack of a privacy policy and explicit ToS. We are not. If that really bothers you so much, well, there is something you can do about it.
Damn, I love it when great minds think alike.
You know the link that says "Recruting Info" in the top left?
As part of the Constitution, can we change it to "Recruiting Info" ?

No insult taken. I really enjoy the product you guys put out, just was thinking of ways that could possibly make it better and tossing this out in the MUSCOOP free market of ideas.
I think the openness and willingness to let users/fans here create their own sense of community through the forums and wikis is what makes this site great.
Thought that maybe this would be a way to push that openness theme a bit more.
"Constitution?" I thought the term of art these days was "Mission Statement." Another generally useless exercise.

Serious question.....how many, if any "insiders" post at this board, and if they do, when is the last time something big happened with MU basketball that someone here broke the story BEFORE anyone else?? I ask this not to be a jerk, I am asking because I really don't know. Having not been here as long as a lot of you have, i don't have the chance to read every thread.
Now I know the DJO commitment was essentially broken on this board first but that was by an Iowa State fan.

Don't know how many true insiders there are anymore, as Buzz Williams keeps recruiting extremely close to the vest.
IWB is an insider who posts on a free board at sportsbubbler.com.
Mark Miller is a respected b-ball guy who has some "insider" info who usually only posts on Scout.com's premium board.
I think BMA is the insider at MUScoop; I know I have and others will try and share premium info from rivals and the like when they get a chance.

This system confuses me. At the top: "11-40 range nationally is worth eight points"
..........(8) Erik Williams, 6'7, WF, Cypress (Cypress Springs) TX; (8) Junior Cadugon, 6'0, PG, Humble (Christian Life) TX; (8) Jeronne Maymon, 6'6, PF, Madison (Memorial) WI; (8) Dwight Buycks, 6'3, 2G, Indian Hills (JC) IA; (8) Darius Johnson-Odom, 6'2, PG, Hutchinson (JC) KS
All of those guys are top 40 players? Not that i'm complaining but I haven't seen many rankings where jc, williams and maymon are in the top 40.

Not exactly. We were behind UNC without DJO. When we first signed him, he was rated as a 4 point player, someone between 71-100 in HoopScoops ranking. About 48 hours ago, Clark Francis updated the ranking to have him be an 8 point player and in the top 40.
So clearly it was the famed Marquette commitment boost.

Those guys are actually all top 25 in HoopScoop's HS ranking. JC is #12, Williams is #14, JMay is #23. That's the only one that has all of them in the top 40, but others have one or two. HoopMasters for example has JC at #27 and Williams at #30.
That specific ranking is HoopScoop's composite where they group all players in the 2009 class together regardless of whether they are prep school, high school or JUCO. So being in the top 40 there is actually better than being in the top 40 in just their HS ranking.
